The science of Ayurveda offers various health benefits and its medical philosophy emphasizes on the aspect of restoring biological energies in order to have the body return to its normal functioning through a more natural form of treatment. This allows the body's immunity to take over and fight off ailments.

The two main forms of treatment administered under Ayurveda are as follows:-

Shodhana :- It focuses on getting rid of toxins present in the body, through a purification process.

Shamana:- This process involves administering medications like powder, tablets, decoction into the body by simply consuming it.

Nasya karma

The Panchakarma treatment is primarily a part of the Shodhana form of treatment and holds extreme importance. Nasya karma is part of the five administered treatments in Panchakarma. It refers to the process of medication given through the nasal route, involving various herbal formulations composed of ghee, powder, fresh juice or oil. It is considered to be very effective when used in the right manner.

How Nasya work?

When the medicated herbal formula is taken in through the nostrils, it flows through, to reach the membrane of the brain. This alerts the nerves that connect the scalp and the brain, thereby helping with improving the quality of hair follicles.

There are different types of Nasya treatments, catering to various imbalanced doshas.

Shatavri Ghrita

What are Nasya’s main ingredients?

Formulated with medicated cow’s ghee, it is one of the safest ingredients out there.

Ghee has soothing properties. It also delays premature greying of hair and strengthens the immune system.

The Yashtimadu benefits hair health by calming the aggravated pitta levels in you so your dosha won’t act grumpy anymore. It also takes up the role of a hair tonic and brain tonic working on nerves and those responsible for your hair.
