It is very important for people to know about things they are putting in their bodies (except for pizza, you eat it, no questions asked!). So we are here to tell you about all the ingredients in our hair loss recovery powerhouses. Starting with our Hair Loss Hero - Prana Renew Nasal Drops.

But first, a lot of our customers have asked us - No one has ever heard of nasal drops in a “How to Stop Hair Fall” conversation. At Tatva we go above and beyond to get the best hair loss treatment and therefore our products are not the usual. Once you read through this blog, you’ll see why we have it in the box and what magic herbs go into it.

Now let’s get into this. (don’t worry we’ll keep it short)

Traya Ghrit Nasal Drops - what is it?

According to Ayurveda the best route to treat any ailment is one closest to the affected part of the body. Therefore nasal drops can work wonders instead of a tablet. This is Traya’s secret weapon to fight hair loss. It is made from Pure Cow’s Ghee and Yashtimadhu.

What is Yashtimadhu?

Yashti - what?

Yashtimadhu where ‘Yashti’ stands for wood and ‘madhu’ meaning honey, is also known as Licorice (not the candy, the herb). Its botanical name is Glycyrrhiza glabra. It is a herb like plant with sweet roots and various health benefits. It is known to be one of the most potent and widely used herbs in Ayurveda. People mostly know it only as a flavoring herb, it actually has numerous proven therapeutic benefits, especially for hair loss. Due to this, it has been used in ethnic medicine around the world from China to Egypt for centuries. The sweet sap of the Yashtimadu root is said to be almost 30 times sweeter than sugar and that has earned it the name ‘double sweet’ in Malayalam.

The ancient Greeks were known to drink tea made from the licorice root to keep the scalp hydrated, one of the many Yashtimadhu uses. For all its benefits the Yashtimadhu price appears to be the biggest advantage.

Where Does it Come From?

Yashtimadhu was first found in southern, central and Mediterranean Russia and Asia. Closer to home this herb is grown in the Himalayas. It has been very beneficial in treating digestive problems, cough, infection and sore throat among other things. The licorice roots are sourced straight from the Himalayan Mountains. It then goes to a facility where it is sun-dried and then powdered to make Yashtimadhu churna. This Yashtimadhu churna is combined with Pure Cow’s Ghee (don’t need to explain its benefits) which then goes into your box.

Yashtimadhu

How to Use Yashtimadhu?

Yashtimadhu oil should ideally be used once a week. It is said that regular use enhances hair growth and prevents balding. The tea is also consumed to prevent premature graying of hair. Oral tablets, however, should be taken under medical supervision as it is not meant to be taken regularly. Expert advice on the consumption of Yashtimadhu in case of hypertension, diabetes, pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Mix 1 tablespoon of Yashtimadhu powder with honey and pushkarmool powder to treat allergic asthma. Mix a tablespoon of the powder with honey and sitopaladi churna to cure your sore throat.

Traya’s Shatavari Ghrit- Nasal drops

Tilt your head and pour the drop in your nostrils (based on the dosage in your prescription). There might be a funny taste in your throat after, but that’s alright cause - no pain no gain! If you want to get rid of it just gargle with lukewarm water.

What are its Benefits for Hair Fall?

But now coming to hair fall. It is also packed with flavonoids and phytoestrogens that help improve scalp and hair health, and that is why experts suggest Yashtimadhu for hair issues.

Shatavari Ghrita Ingredients

Hair experts say an increase in Pitta and Vata doshas results in hair loss. Yashtimadhu has proven effective in balancing both these. It soothes scalp irritation, dandruff, and infections and its minty quality stimulates hair growth. In fact, recent studies prove that the hydro-alcoholic extract of Yashtimadhu showed excellent hair regrowth promoting activity. When compared to the standard drug, 2% concentration of licorice extract showed better hair growth stimulatory activity than 2% Minoxidil. And that it can be safely used in herbal formulations in the treatment of various types of Alopecia.

It also acts as a protective layer and shields from the harmful effects of the sun when mixed with coconut oil. It’s antibacterial qualities help protect the hair against scalp infections. Yashtimadhu tea is also very good for the hair and encourages regrowth. If Yashtimadhu tea is mixed with amla and henna, it cures dandruff and nourishes dull hair.

Side Effects of Yashtimadhu

There are the obvious benefits of consuming Yashtimadhu or applying it topically, but there are certain side effects that you should remember. Though we do not have the information on all the possible side effects it is considered safe if taken for a period not exceeding 4 weeks. Do not use it if:

  • has heart issues.
  • has high blood pressure or hypertension.
  • has a nerve disorder or psychiatric problems.
