Bhringraj comes from a plant known as “false daisy”. The herb is in the sunflower family and can be found in oil, capsule and powder form. Bhringraj is said to promote hair growth, hair strength, and prevent graying and dandruff. Dandruff reduction: Bhringraj has antimicrobial and antifungal properties that can help reduce dandruff. The herb also has anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce skin irritations on the scalp. It is also said to improve circulation to the scalp.
A study showed that the selected plant Eclipta alba extracts was effective against the bacterial spp. This can be used to treat various conditions like dandruff and inflammation. This investigation has opened up the possibility of the use of this plant for formulating a drug for human consumption possibly for the treatment of bacterial infections. The results of the study also support the medicinal usage of the studied extracts can be used as antimicrobial agents in new drugs for therapy infectious diseases caused by pathogens.

Treats scalp infections: The goodness of anti-bacterial properties in bhringaraj, make it a prompt solution for treating a variety of scalp infections. Majorly bhringraj is effective in treating different forms of folliculitis, which causes inflammation of the hair follicles which ultimately leads to hair fall and balding. In one study done in 2015, it was found that those who supplemented with bhringraj had significantly greater reductions in dryness on the scalp, compared with the control group. The study also found a lesser number of scalp infections among those who used products continuously.
