Traya Journey at a Glance
- A 40‑something woman from a smaller North Indian city noticed gradual hair thinning and increasing hair fall.
- Her Traya hair test showed multiple root causes at play: poor nutrition, sluggish metabolism, stress and digestion issues.
- Her personalized hair treatment plan included Hair Vitamin, Hair Santulan, Scalp Oil with Calm Therapy booster, Minoxidil serum, Defence Shampoo and Defence Conditioner.
- In the first 2 months, weak old hair shed faster while internal supplements and oils worked on scalp and root health.
- Around the third month, hair fall began to reduce and volume and ponytail thickness slowly started to come back.
When “Normal” Hair Fall Stops Feeling Normal
“Itna zyada gir raha hai… kab rukega?” she had asked herself more than once, pulling loose strands off her comb.
Let’s call her Meera, a homemaker from a tier‑2 city in North India. For months, she had been noticing more hair on the floor and less volume in her plait. At first, she blamed the weather and her dry scalp in winter, but when the thinning became obvious in the mirror, she stopped pretending it was “just a phase.”
That’s when she found Traya online, did the hair test, ordered the kit… and then froze.
By the time hair coach Smriti called, the box was already sitting opened at home. “Abhi to ham start nahin kiye hain… aaj se shuru karne wale hain,” Meera admitted a little shyly. Like many people, she was scared to do something wrong and make things worse.
Understanding Her Hair Story
On the call, Smriti didn’t start with products. She started with Meera.
Before dialing, she’d already checked Meera’s hair test. On the call she gently explained what she saw: “Nutrition, metabolism, stress aur digestion… in reasons ke liye abhi aapko hair fall face karna pad raha hai. Aapke baalon ko jo adequate nourishment milni chahiye, nahin mil rahi. Baal weak ho ja rahe hain, dhire dhire gir rahe hain.”
This wasn’t just a dry scalp issue or a “wrong shampoo” problem. It was a whole‑body story: the way Meera ate, digested food, coped with everyday stress and maintained energy levels was silently affecting every strand.
When asked, Meera shared that her scalp was usually dry and became flaky with a little dandruff in winter, though currently there wasn’t any visible dandruff. That dryness, combined with internal imbalances, had slowly been weakening her roots.
For the first time, someone connected all the dots instead of just recommending a “strong anti‑hair fall shampoo.”
The Root Causes Behind Her Hair Fall
Smriti broke it down in simple language. Because Meera’s nutrition and metabolism were not optimal, the blood reaching her scalp didn’t carry enough “building blocks” for strong hair. Weak digestion meant those nutrients from food weren’t being absorbed properly. On top of that, daily stress was tightening everything up - from her mind to the tiny blood vessels nourishing her follicles.
In Ayurvedic terms, this looks a lot like disturbed agni (digestive fire) and vitiated doshas affecting the scalp and hair. In modern terms, it’s the digestion and hair fall connection: if your gut can’t break down and absorb what you eat, your hair is the first to suffer.
Her dry scalp also meant the barrier on her skin was compromised in cooler weather, making hair more prone to breakage. All these layers together had led to the gradual thinning she was now seeing.
Can poor nutrition and slow metabolism really cause so much hair fall?
Yes. When your diet doesn’t deliver enough key nutrients - or your body can’t absorb them well because of weak digestion or sluggish metabolism - your hair follicles go into “energy‑saving mode.” They shorten the growth phase, push more hair into the shedding phase and produce finer, weaker strands. Over time, this looks like constant hair fall, thinning ponytails and a widening parting, even if you don’t have any major disease.
Her Doubts, Asked Out Loud
Once the root causes were explained, Meera’s biggest fear came out: “Aisa to nahin hai na ki isko hamesha use karna padega?” She was worried she’d be stuck on a long list of products forever.
Smriti reassured her that the heavier part of the routine - especially supplements - had a defined course. “Course jo hota hai, woh teen se chhah mahine ka hota hai. Course complete hoga to supplements remove ho jayenge, kit ka size aur price dono kam ho jayega. Maintenance ke liye oil aur serum normal moisturizer - sunscreen ki tarah continue karne ko bolte hain.”
The second fear was even more emotional. Smriti proactively addressed it: once Meera started Minoxidil, she might feel like her hair fall was worsening.
“Abhi jab aap use karenge, pehle kuch hafton ke liye lag sakta hai ki thoda hair fall zyada ho raha hai, but isme stress lene ki koi baat nahin hai… ye sign of progress hai,” she explained. Like old leaves falling so the tree can grow new ones, the weak, already‑detached hairs had to shed faster to make room for healthier growth. For anyone who has already been losing hair, the idea that it might get worse before it gets better is terrifying. Hearing it described calmly as part of the process helped Meera breathe again.
The Traya Plan: Step‑by‑Step, Not Overwhelming
Instead of dumping instructions on her, Smriti structured the routine around Meera’s day.
For scalp and hair care on wash days, Meera was asked to mix her Scalp Oil with the Calm Therapy shot. Calm Therapy is a booster oil containing castor oil, ORPL and ylang‑ylang, designed for people dealing with high stress and sleep disturbances along with hair fall. Together with the herbal Scalp Oil, this combination supports Shiroabhyanga - the Ayurvedic practice of head massage that calms the nervous system and improves blood circulation to hair follicles.
She would apply this blend twice a week, about thirty minutes before bathing. After that came the Defence Shampoo - a mild, sulphate‑ and paraben‑free cleanser fortified with Vitamin B3 and AnaGain - to clean her scalp without stripping it. A small amount of Defence Conditioner went only on the lengths, never on the roots, to keep dry hair soft and less prone to breakage.
Everyday internal care was where the real root‑cause work would happen. Meera’s kit included Hair Vitamin and Hair Santulan. Hair Vitamin is a non‑sugary multivitamin enriched with biotin, vitamins, minerals and natural DHT‑blocking extracts like pumpkin seed and bhringraj. This is the part that quietly addresses nutritional gaps - the same kind of gaps that can lead to hair fall due to anemia or other deficiencies over time.
Hair Santulan, taken at night after dinner, is an Ayurvedic metabolic booster for women that targets stress, metabolism and digestive issues together. It’s designed to reduce stress, improve digestion, ease bloating or constipation and support overall energy, which in turn nourishes the hair from within.
Finally, there was Minoxidil serum for the scalp - applied 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml in the evening, only on areas where hair had thinned or scalp was visibly showing. Smriti was clear: no harsh rubbing, just gentle spreading with fingertips and patience with the initial shedding phase.
To keep things simple, she showed Meera exactly where in the Traya app she could find the “How to use kit” section and her diet plan. On days when life got busy and she forgot a dose, she was told not to panic: just continue from the next day, instead of stopping altogether.
The Timeline: Why It Takes Months, Not Weeks
Meera’s next question was the one everyone eventually asks: “Results kab tak dikhne lagenge?”
Smriti set clear expectations upfront. For a case like Meera’s, around three months were needed for visible change. The first two months would be about clearing weak, dead hairs and improving scalp and internal health. From the third month onward, they would expect to see a clear reduction in daily hair fall. By the fourth month and beyond, hair fall would keep reducing, volume would slowly improve and the scalp would feel “cooler” and less irritated.
Supplements were planned for three to six months; after that, the maintenance phase would rely mainly on oil and serum, like using a regular moisturizer or sunscreen for the skin. This long‑view approach, with regular follow‑ups (the first one was booked for fifteen days later), made the journey feel structured instead of endless.
The Quiet Transformation
The real change in Meera’s story wasn’t just her hair - it was her relationship with the process.
She went from keeping the kit “manga ke rakhe hue” on a shelf to saying firmly, “Aaj se start karenge.” She understood that delaying the start meant delaying results. She also knew she wasn’t doing this alone: she had the app, coins she could earn for consistency, and a coach she could chat with whenever doubts came up.
As the weeks turned into months, weak old strands shed first. Then the hair fall began to settle. Her plait didn’t magically double in size overnight, but it stopped shrinking. The scalp that once felt dry and tight now felt nourished and calmer after regular oiling and the soothing Calm Therapy blend. Internal support from Hair Vitamin and Hair Santulan helped her feel more energetic and lighter in her digestion, reinforcing that this wasn’t just about hair - it was whole‑body healing showing up on her scalp.
