How Raj Turned 12 Years of Hair Thinning into a Structured Regrowth Journey with Traya

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Long-standing hair thinning and loss for 10–12 years, worsened by hair colouring
  • Likely root causes: years of chemical hair colour, dryness, possible nutritional gaps, and age-related male pattern hair loss
  • Main products used: Scalp Oil with Growth Therapy booster, Defence Shampoo, Minoxidil 5%, Hair Ras and Health Tatva, plus Hair Vitamin
  • Timeline explained to him: 5–8 months for visible improvement, with early focus on internal health
  • Outcome in progress: clarity, realistic expectations, and a personalized hair treatment plan he feels he can stick to

The moment he stopped trusting his mirror

“I used to have really thick, dense hair,” he said quietly. “Ab to bas patle ho gaye….”

Let’s call him Raj. In his early 40s from Gorakhpur, Raj had been colouring his hair for almost 15 years. At first it was about covering greys, then it became a habit. Somewhere along the way, that familiar fullness on his scalp started to shrink.

For 10–12 years he watched his hair slowly thin out. The volume went, the strands became dry and lifeless, and every comb-through reminded him that something wasn’t right. Yet he never took treatment. No dermatologists, no hair clinics. Just hope that it would somehow stop on its own.

It didn’t.

What finally pushed him to try Traya wasn’t an ad; it was a colleague. “Mere ek colleague ne use kiya… unhone photos bheje. Bada achchha laga dekh ke,” Raj told the coach. Seeing someone he knew regrow hair made the idea feel less like marketing and more like possibility.

Even then, his belief was shaky. “Pehle to thoda sa belief system… bahut zyada nahin hai,” he admitted. But he had already started his Traya kit the previous day. Day one was done. Now he wanted to know: what exactly was happening to his hair, and would this really work?

Years of colour, slow thinning: what was really going on

On the call, Traya hair coach Amita did not rush to sell hope. She asked him to walk through his story. Raj shared that he had been using hair colour for around fifteen years, and serious hair fall had been going on for about 10–12 years.

He also mentioned his hair used to be “gumarah” and very thick, but over time it became dry. There was no major dandruff, no IBS, no ulcer, but he did have high blood pressure, controlled on a 20 mg tablet every day.

Listening to the pattern, the coach pieced together a familiar puzzle. Long-term use of chemical hair colours can roughen the cuticle, making hair dry and brittle. Dry hair breaks easily, so the thinning Raj saw wasn’t only because follicles were miniaturising; the strands themselves were more fragile. Alongside this, a decade-long history of progressive thinning strongly hinted at male pattern hair loss, where DHT and genetics slowly shrink follicles on the crown and front.

Add to this the likelihood of subtle nutritional gaps over the years, and you have a scalp where follicles are constantly under attack while not getting enough internal support.

Amita gently asked him to start avoiding harsh hair colours. “Agar use bhi karna ho, toh herbal mehendi ya ammonia-free colour hi,” she suggested, shifting him away from one of his long-standing triggers.

Can long-term hair colour really contribute to hair loss?

Hair colour alone doesn’t usually cause baldness, but frequent chemical colouring can dry out and weaken hair shafts, leading to increased breakage and visible thinning. When this happens on top of male pattern hair loss, it accelerates how quickly the scalp starts to show, making the underlying condition look much worse.

His biggest fear: “If I stop, will all the hair fall again?”

Raj’s main doubt wasn’t about starting; it was about what happens after.

He’d seen a friend take treatment from a local dermatologist in Gorakhpur. “Chhah mahina unka treatment raha, bahut achchha growth,” he recalled. But later that friend started feeling hormonal side effects. When he stopped the medicines, the hair started falling again.

Raj didn’t want to repeat that cycle. On the call he asked very directly: “Abhi jo course hai… do mahine, chhah mahine. Uske baad agar main chhodta hoon, kya fir hair loss waali problem phir se shuru ho jaayegi?”

The coach answered with honesty. She explained that Raj’s pattern is “male pattern hair loss”, a chronic condition. The goal of the 5–8 month Traya journey is to improve internal health, slow down hair loss, and bring back as much density and thickness as his follicles will allow. But long-term maintenance, especially with something like minoxidil, is usually needed to keep those gains stable.

Instead of promising a cure, she offered a plan: use the Ayurvedic and nutritional products for 5–8 months as advised. After that, if he wants to maintain his hairline and density, he can continue topical support like minoxidil “jab tak aap apne hairs ko manage aur maintain karna chahein.”

That honesty built trust where blind belief never could.

A structured journey instead of random experiments

Once Raj understood the why, Amita walked him through the how. His kit wasn’t just a bottle of serum; it was a combined protocol from dermatology, Ayurveda, and nutrition.

For external care, he received Scalp Oil with a Growth Therapy booster shot and Defence Shampoo. The Scalp Oil is a coconut-oil base enriched through sneha pak dravya with herbs like amla and bhringraj. It is meant to be massaged in twice a week, left for at least thirty minutes, then washed off with the gentle, sulphate-free Defence Shampoo. This ritual supports scalp health, improves blood circulation, and keeps follicles hydrated and nourished without harsh chemicals.

The key regrowth engine in his plan is Minoxidil 5% (with Procapil and Finasteride as per his kit), to be used 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml at night directly on visible scalp. Amita prepared him for the one thing that scares most people: initial shedding. She explained that minoxidil may speed up the shedding of weak, old hairs in the first few weeks. “Jo bhi kamzor ya purane baal hain, woh girenge. Gradually by time dheere-dheere reduce ho jaayega,” she reassured him, so he wouldn’t panic and quit just when the medicine started working.

Internally, his plan focused on correcting the terrain that had allowed hair loss to accelerate over the years.

He was put on Hair Ras, a pitta-balancing Ayurvedic formulation that nourishes asthi dhatu (the bone and hair-supporting tissue), improves blood circulation to hair follicles, and helps with tissue nourishment. Over 6–8 months, Hair Ras acts somewhat like a “Chyawanprash for hair”, working beneath the surface while the topical actives do their job on the scalp.

Alongside this, Health Tatva supports his metabolism and digestion. Since Raj didn’t have IBS or ulcers but likely had a long history of not-so-ideal diet during his working years, improving gut absorption was key. The coach explained how digestion and hair fall connection matters: if his gut is sluggish or nutrients aren’t well absorbed, even a good diet won’t fully reach the follicles. Health Tatva acts as a digestive stimulant, improving nutrient absorption, energy levels, and indirectly supporting hair growth.

He also received Traya Hair Vitamin, which covers nutritional gaps with biotin, vitamins, minerals and natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract and bhringraj. While not a medicine for baldness on its own, it ensures that nutritional deficiency is not silently fuelling his hair fall due to anemia or related issues over time.

Because Raj is on daily blood pressure medication, Amita gave a very specific safety instruction: keep at least a 5‑minute gap between his BP tablet and Traya supplements whenever taken together. Tiny details like this made the protocol feel medically thought through, not casual.

From doubt to disciplined hope

What changed on this single call was not his hairline; it was his mindset.

At the start he openly said he didn’t have a strong belief that any product could truly help hair growth. By the end, his questions had shifted from “kya ye work karega?” to “kitni der use karna hoga?” and “kaise use karna hai?”

He understood that the first three months are about internal health and nutritional correction, months four to six about controlling hair fall and improving scalp health, and seven to eight about visible changes in thickness, density, and crown coverage. He also heard a realistic caveat: hairline regrowth is harder than crown regrowth, and while around 30% of Traya customers do see hairline improvement, Traya doesn’t promise miracles or false hope. Their commitment is to at least maintain his current hairline and prevent further worsening.

Before hanging up, the coach encouraged him to connect every 10–12 days for progress tracking and adjustments. She even booked his next follow-up for a specific morning slot, giving him the comfort of ongoing guidance rather than a one-time prescription.

Raj may still be at the beginning of his journey, but for the first time in 10–12 years, he isn’t fighting hair loss alone or blindly. He has a plan that respects his medical history, his fears, and his lifestyle - and a team ready to walk with him through the slow, steady work of regrowth.
