- Key products used: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion, Scalp Oil with booster, Defence Shampoo and Conditioner, Hair Vitamin for Her, Her Nourish, Hair Ras (hair sticks).
- Timeline: first month for dandruff and scalp reset, visible hair fall control and density changes from the fourth - fifth month.
- Outcome: clearer scalp, a plan she understands, and confidence that her personalized hair treatment plan won’t clash with her thyroid medicines.
“Will Anything Even Change in One Month?”
Prerna, a 30-year-old homemaker from Jaipur, didn’t start the call by talking about emotions. She began with a very practical doubt: “Ye jo anti dandruff solution hai, sirf scalp pe use karna hai ya pure hairs pe bhi kar sakti hun?” But a few minutes later, the real worry slipped out: “Hair mera abhi bahut zyada hair fall ho raha hai… ek month mein kuch effect dikhega?”
For months, she had watched more and more strands collect in the bathroom, felt her scalp get greasy in just two to three days, and seen white flakes on her shoulders. She already lived with thyroid issues and Thyronorm for the past eight years; now the one thing she could see in the mirror every day felt out of control.
By the time she reached Traya, she wasn’t looking for a fancy shampoo. She wanted a clear answer: “Kab tak result dikhenge? Kya lifetime use karna padega?”
Understanding Her Hair and Scalp Story
On the call, her coach Vinay didn’t jump to promises. He first checked what most people ignore: “Koi medical history, koi medicines?” That’s when she shared that she was on 150 mcg Thyronorm for eight years. Thyroid, oily scalp that turned greasy within days, and visible dandruff formed the background of her hair fall story.
He then broke her routine into two simple parts she could actually follow: hair wash routine and daily rhythm.
For wash days, she usually shampooed only twice a week. With her oily scalp and dandruff, Vinay gently nudged her to move to three washes a week. The flow he gave her was structured but simple: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion on the scalp (never on lengths) overnight, followed the next day by warm oiling with Scalp Oil mixed with the booster shot, then Defence Shampoo and finally Defence Conditioner only on the hair lengths.
He explained why he was obsessed with the scalp: “Our motive is to clean your scalp taki serum ka penetration achchhe se ho sake.” Before thinking of regrowth, he wanted her scalp to be calm, clean and ready.
The Root Causes Behind Her Hair Fall
When he opened her Traya hair test, the picture became clearer. Her hair fall wasn’t about just one thing. There were four overlapping root causes: dandruff, oily scalp, nutritional gaps, metabolism issues, and hormonal changes from long-standing thyroid problems.
He explained dandruff first, in a way she could visualise: those stubborn flakes were continuously irritating her scalp and acting like a barrier. “Dandruff jo hota hai na, vo apke scalp ko irritate karta hai aur apke hairs tak nutritions nahin jane deta. Bahut saare hairs already roots se detach ho chuke hote hain, sirf fanse hue hote hain.”
In simple terms, the nourishment from her blood and diet was getting stuck at scalp level; it wasn’t truly reaching the follicles. Add to that her metabolism and nutrition issues - her internal “supply chain” of nutrients to the hair roots was weak and inconsistent. Thyroid-related hormonal imbalances were quietly slowing down everything further, from growth signals to the quality of new strands.
Over time, this combination meant more and more hair remained in a weakened state, sitting loosely at the roots and ready to shed at the slightest trigger, like washing or combing.
Can dandruff really make hair fall worse?
Vinay’s answer, indirectly, was yes. When dandruff and scalp inflammation persist, they create a hostile environment for hair roots. The flakes, excess oil, and irritation disturb the scalp barrier and block optimal blood and nutrient flow to follicles. Over weeks and months, those undernourished follicles produce weaker hair that sheds easily, leading to visible dandruff and dry scalp hair loss together. Treating the flakes alone is not enough; you have to calm the scalp and restore proper nutrition to see lasting change.
Her Doubts, in Her Own Words
Prerna didn’t hide her worries. After listening carefully, she asked the question almost everyone wants to ask but hesitates to voice: “Matlab is ka use karne se abhi, filhaal one month mein mere ko kuch effect dikhega?”
She wanted some early sign that things were moving in the right direction. She also feared the long-term: “Isko mujhe lifetime use karna padega? Jaise hi band karungi to phir ho jaega?”
Vinay didn’t sugar-coat it. He told her that in the first month, what she would definitely notice is her dandruff reducing and her scalp feeling cleaner. The hair fall reduction and visible density would come later, around the fourth and fifth month, once the scalp was ready and the internal root causes were under better control.
He also prepared her for one thing most people aren’t told: when the serum is added in the second month, hair fall might increase initially. Those are the weak, already detached hairs being pushed out so that healthier strands can take their place. To make it less abstract, he used a simple image: “Tree ke paas bhi do tarah ke leaves hote hain - green aur yellow. Tree aksar yellow leaves ko shed out kar deta hai. Green leaves ko achchha food deta hai. Just like that, serum bhi apke scalp pe work karta hai.”
How the Coach Built a Plan She Could Trust
Instead of overwhelming her with science, Vinay aligned every product to a purpose and a timeline.
For the scalp and dandruff, the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion with Ketoconazole was to be her night-time reset: applied only on the scalp, left overnight to attack the fungus causing the flakes and soothe inflammation. This would work alongside regular cleansing with the Defence Shampoo, which is sulphate and paraben free, and the Defence Conditioner to protect the hair shafts from roughness caused by medicated washes and treatments.
For follicle nourishment and stress-linked shedding, the Scalp Oil with its Sneh pak dravya base and Ayurvedic herbs like Amla and Bhringraj was to be massaged in half an hour before washing. This Shiroabhyanga ritual calms the nervous system, improves circulation and keeps the follicles active.
For the internal side, her daily rhythm had three pillars: Hair Vitamin for Her once in the morning after breakfast, Her Nourish (two tablets morning and two at night), and Hair Ras “hair sticks” at night after dinner. Together, these targeted exactly what her report had flagged - nutritional gaps, metabolism and hormonal balance. Hair Vitamin For Her is designed for women who don’t meet all their macro and micronutrient needs through diet and supports keratin production and overall energy. Her Nourish and Hair Ras variants support stress, digestion and hormonal stability, reinforcing the digestion and hair fall connection that often gets ignored in day-to-day consultations.
When she nervously asked whether these would clash with her thyroid medicine, Vinay reassured her clearly: Traya’s Ayurvedic supplements are designed not to interfere with existing health concerns but to support the root causes behind hair fall such as nutrition, metabolism and stress. She could continue her Thyronorm exactly as prescribed.
Finally, he clarified her “lifetime” fear. The complete, bigger kit with multiple supplements is a three, six or eight month course. As the root causes settle, the kit size and cost reduce. For long-term maintenance, she may only need to continue one or two topical products like the scalp serum and, for a while, oil. The goal isn’t dependency; it’s to build and then maintain a healthier baseline.
What Begins to Change
The expected arc of her journey looked like this: in the first month, reduced dandruff and a calmer, less itchy scalp. In the second and third months, once scalp health is restored and serum is introduced, shedding might spike briefly as weaker hairs exit. From the fourth month onwards, the quality of growth improves: less breakage, strands that feel thicker, and a scalp that looks fuller. By the fifth month, she could realistically expect hair fall to reduce steadily and her earlier density to start returning.
Knowing this upfront made all the difference. Instead of panicking at every shed strand, she now had a map. She had numbers - four months to visible improvement, maintenance after that - and she had a team checking in, from app-based logs to scheduled follow-up calls.
Most importantly, she no longer had to wonder if her hair fall due to anemia-like nutritional deficiencies, dandruff and thyroid would forever keep her stuck. For the first time in years, she had a structured, personalized hair treatment plan that addressed everything together: her scalp, her hormones, her digestion, and her daily habits.
