“Lagta hai sukha sukha hi hai pura”: Where Her Hair Story Starts
For Asha, a 34-year-old homemaker from Nagpur, the first red flag wasn’t chunks of hair in the shower. It was the way her hair felt in her hands.
“Ab bal bilkul sukha hua rahata hai… tel laga bhi lete hain, lagta hai sukha sukha hi hai pura,” she told the Traya coach. Her scalp felt dry in winter, greasy and sweaty in summer, with light dandruff that always came back on the front of her head. On top of that, she struggled with weight gain, back pain and feet that cracked so much she needed regular medicines.
She wasn’t on any regular medication for hair, though. Just living with the discomfort and the nagging fear that her hair was getting weaker.
When she signed up and got a call from her Traya hair coach, it was the first time someone connected all her scattered complaints into a single story.
Understanding Her Hair and Health Together
The coach had already gone through her hair test report and gently filled in the gaps.
He explained that her main root causes were nutrition, metabolism, external factors and digestion. In simple terms, the food she ate wasn’t being absorbed efficiently, her system was a bit sluggish, and her scalp environment wasn’t ideal. All of that meant her hair follicles weren’t getting the nourishment they needed.
Asha listened, quiet but attentive. She didn’t argue or push back, but you could hear the unspoken doubt in her short answers: would this finally work for her?
To make it easier, the coach painted the full picture. Dry scalp in winter, light dandruff at the hairline, “chipchipa” sweat in summer, irregular hair wash frequency (sometimes daily, sometimes once a week), and no structured nutrition routine - together these were creating the perfect storm for hair fall and thinning.
Can digestion really affect hair fall?
The coach explained that when digestion and metabolism slow down, the body becomes very selective about where nutrients go. Vital organs get priority, while hair follicles, which are not essential for survival, are left undernourished. Over time this digestion and hair fall connection shows up as weaker strands, poor texture and increased shedding. Fixing the gut and metabolism helps more of the nutrients from food actually reach the hair roots.
The Doubts She Finally Said Out Loud
As the coach walked her through the plan, Asha started voicing some of the thoughts that had been worrying her for months.
She’d heard people say that if hair is weak, nails must also be weak. So she asked, “Jo bhi chilta hai, vo nakhun se match karata hai? Agar bal pe kam ho raha hai to nakhun pe bhi hota hai?” The coach reassured her that the products she was using were targeted to scalp hair, not nails, gently correcting myths without dismissing her.
Her biggest anxiety, though, was greying.
“Jo grey hair ho gaya hai, vo kya black pe hi jaega? Ek hafta pehle ek do the, fir dekhte hain ki ek do ke badle chaar - paanch ho gaye… ye nahin ruk sakta hai kya?” she asked, worried that her occasional grey strands were multiplying.
The coach didn’t sugarcoat it. He explained that greying is usually a chronic process and cannot be reversed to black, but it can sometimes be slowed. When she asked if she could get something “jo hair greying ruka de” in the future, he mentioned Hair Ras as a product that could help delay greying by nourishing the hair and cooling excess pitta, though it wouldn’t turn white hair black again.
This honest mix of hope and realism helped Asha trust the process.
Building Her Daily Hair Routine
Once the “why” was clear, the coach moved to the “how” - a simple, repeatable routine that fit her lifestyle.
On hair wash days, she would start with Nourish Oil. The coach asked her to apply it to the scalp and leave it for at least 30 minutes. This oil, with a blend of 9 cold-pressed oils and herbs like amla, bhringraj and rosemary, was there to condition her dull, dry hair and make it less prone to breakage, not to regrow hair by itself.
After that, she could wash with a regular shampoo and then apply Defence Conditioner only on the hair length, never on the scalp. The coach repeated this clearly because she asked, “Kis length pe… scalp pe nahin karenge?” Defence Conditioner, enriched with biotin, niacinamide and Keraguard, was meant to soften, detangle and protect the hair shaft - especially important for someone whose hair already felt “sukha sukha” and who would later be using a hair-active serum.
Then came the oral supplements. The Traya doctor had prescribed Hair Vitamin and Hair Santulan based on her report. Each morning, after breakfast, she would take one Hair Vitamin to fill the nutritional gaps that regular food wasn’t covering. This capsule, with biotin, pumpkin seed extract, bhringraj and other vitamins and minerals, was designed to target poor nutrition and work as a non-sugary multivitamin that also supports DHT balance.
At night after dinner, she would take two tablets of Hair Santulan. This women-focused Ayurvedic formulation works on multiple root causes together: stress, metabolism, bloating and constipation. The coach emphasised that taking these after meals would improve absorption and help gradually restore internal balance so more nutrients could reach the hair.
For someone whose roots of hair fall due to anemia or hidden deficiencies had never been explored before, this made sense. It wasn’t just about popping a random hair tablet; it was a structured course for 3–6 months.
Facing the Shedding Phase Without Panic
The topical Hair Active serum was the part she was most nervous about. She had already heard stories of hair fall increasing with serums and minoxidil.
The coach set expectations upfront. Every night, before sleeping, she would apply 1 ml of serum across the scalp in small drops and spread it gently with her fingers. “Massage mat kijiega,” he repeated, to avoid unnecessary friction and breakage.
Then he prepared her for the shedding phase: in the first few weeks, she might notice more hair fall. “Starting ke kuch hafton mein hair fall increase notice hoga, lekin ghabraiyega mat,” he said. Those were the weaker strands being pushed out as the serum sped up the shedding phase so that stronger new hair could grow.
For Asha, this explanation was crucial. Instead of panicking when she saw extra hair on her comb, she would remember that her weaker hair was leaving to make way for better growth.
The Timeline That Gave Her Hope
Before ending the call, the coach laid out a clear timeline.
The first two months were about preparation: removing weaker strands and improving scalp health so that her scalp would be “treatment-ready.” Around the third month, she could expect to see visible hair fall reduction. From the fourth month onwards, gradual improvements in volume and density, the kind she could actually feel when tying her ponytail.
He also told her that the oral supplements were a structured 3–6 month course. After that, once her internal balance improved, she could maintain the results with just oil and serum, used consistently.
To keep her engaged and accountable, he walked her through the Traya app: how to log her meals, track regularity, and earn coins she could redeem later. The diet plan feature would show her where her nutritional deficiencies were and help keep her digestion on track - closing the loop between food and hair.
Suddenly, her routine wasn’t just “eat these tablets and apply this serum.” It was a living plan, monitored and adjusted with her coach through regular follow-up calls.
The Subtle but Powerful Shift
This story doesn’t end with a dramatic “before and after” photo. Asha was just at the beginning of her journey when this first call happened. But something important had already changed.
She started her supplements the very next day. She rechecked the kit names on the Traya booklet, carefully noting when to take “that one tablet after breakfast” and which tablets to take “rat mein dinner ke baad.” She understood why her serum might first increase shedding and chose not to be afraid of it. She asked for future help with greying instead of silently worrying.
Most importantly, she no longer felt alone or confused about what was happening on her scalp. She had a coach, a plan, and a realistic timeline.
And that’s often where real iron deficiency hair fall recovery or metabolism-related hair loss recovery begins - not with a miracle product, but with clarity, consistency and support.
