“It’s Been Slowly Happening for Years” - The Moment He Spoke Up
“It’s been slowly happening for years,” Arjun finally admitted on the call.
A 30-year-old software professional from Nagpur, he wasn’t the type to panic about a few strands of hair. But over the last two to three years, the slow thinning had become hard to ignore. The hairline that once framed his forehead was now quietly inching back, and the scalp at his crown was starting to show through in photos.
He had tried a hair serum for four or five months before Traya. It helped a little with how his hair felt, but the hair fall itself? “Abhi kuch time se main hair serum use kar raha tha… but the problem is still there,” he told the coach.
What finally pushed him to seek proper help wasn’t a dramatic clump of hair in the shower. It was that nagging sense that this wasn’t just a phase anymore. This was becoming his new normal - and he didn’t want to accept that without a fight.
Understanding His Hair Concern and Daily Struggles
On the call, the Traya hair coach gently walked him through his hair history. How long had he noticed hair fall? “Do - teen saal, maan lijiye,” he said. Almost three years of slow, chronic shedding.
He didn’t have major medical conditions. No migraines, no sinus, no asthma. Sleep was more or less okay, about six to eight hours. But when she asked about dandruff, his answer came quickly: it was always there in the background.
“Dandruff rahata hai… sahi ho jata hai bich-bich mein, phir ho jata hai kabhi-kabhi.” It would improve for a while, then come back. Right now, there was dandruff again - and he knew that every time his scalp got flaky and itchy, the hair fall felt worse.
There was one more layer. When the coach checked his test and asked about digestion, he admitted to gas, acidity, and bloating when he ate outside. Nothing dramatic enough to see a doctor, but just enough to be “normal” discomfort he had learned to live with.
Root Causes: More Than Just a “Hair Problem”
After reviewing his hair test, the coach joined the dots. She explained that his hair fall wasn’t random. It was being pushed by a combination of root causes:
Genetic tendency: His pattern - receding hairline and thinning at the crown - matched typical male pattern hair loss. Genetics were quietly miniaturising his follicles over time.
Metabolism and nutrition: His gas and bloating were warning signs that his digestion wasn’t always efficient. When digestion is off, the body doesn’t absorb nutrients properly, and hair - being a “non-essential” tissue - is one of the first places where the lack shows up.
Chronic dandruff: That “mild” dandruff that kept coming and going was not harmless. A flaky scalp can mean more inflammation and irritation at the roots. Constant itching and build-up weaken follicles and can trigger more hair fall.
She put it simply for him: his scalp was under constant low-grade stress from dandruff, his follicles were genetically sensitive and shrinking, and his digestion wasn’t consistently supporting strong, well-nourished hair.
Can dandruff and digestion really trigger hair loss?
The coach explained that yes, they can. Persistent dandruff inflames the scalp and makes hair roots unstable, so even normal combing can dislodge hair more easily. At the same time, poor digestion means fewer vitamins and minerals actually reach the hair follicles. Together, this creates a perfect storm where genetically vulnerable hair thins much faster than it should.
His Doubts, Fears, and the Shedding Phase
Like many men in his thirties, Arjun’s biggest unspoken fear was simple: “Will I go bald no matter what I do?”
The coach didn’t sugarcoat it. She told him that hair fall is a chronic condition and can’t be “cured” 100 percent. But it can absolutely be controlled and slowed down, especially at his stage. She reassured him that his case wasn’t very advanced and that many men like him had seen real changes by staying consistent.
She also pre-empted the part most people are scared of: the initial shedding with Minoxidil. She told him clearly that in the first few weeks, his hair fall might appear to increase. “Yeh shedding phase hota hai,” she explained, a sign that weaker, resting hairs are being pushed out so stronger ones can grow. It’s uncomfortable to watch, but it’s a positive sign that the medicine is working on the follicles.
Hearing that upfront helped. Instead of panicking when shedding began, he’d know why it was happening.
The Traya Coach as Guide, Not Just a Script
Throughout the call, the coach wasn’t just reading out instructions. She was building a plan that Arjun could actually live with.
She mapped a realistic timeline: the first one to two months to focus on calming dandruff and scalp health, months three and four to see visible reduction in hair fall and improvements in follicle health, and around the fifth month onwards to start noticing new growth in areas where the scalp was showing.
She also set expectations around his receding hairline. Growth at the hairline is always harder, she explained, but about thirty percent of Traya clients do notice changes there. Her promise was honest: “We’ll try our best to prevent it from worsening and support whatever regrowth is possible.”
To keep him accountable and supported, she booked a follow-up call in fifteen days and reminded him he could also book from the app whenever he wanted. This wasn’t a one-time prescription; it was a monitored, personalized hair treatment plan with real humans checking in.
How Each Product Fit Into His Daily Life
Instead of dumping six products on him, the coach built a simple rhythm around his day.
Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Allopathy, Ketoconazole-based): To be used two to three times a week. Its job was to tackle the fungus-driven dandruff, reduce inflammation, and keep his scalp clean so follicles could function without constant irritation.
Scalp Oil + Growth Therapy booster: Twice a week, to be applied about half an hour before washing. The Scalp Oil, with its coconut base and herbs like Amla and Bhringraj, would nourish the roots and improve blood circulation, while the Growth Therapy shot would work as a booster to support regrowth and keep the scalp healthy.
Minoxidil serum: Every day, one ml on the dry scalp after bathing and one ml before bed, only where the scalp was visible. No heavy massage, just gentle spreading. Its role was to reverse follicle miniaturisation by improving blood supply and stimulating the growth phase of the hair cycle.
Hair Vitamin: One capsule after breakfast, to fill nutritional gaps with vitamins, minerals, and natural DHT blockers. This was particularly important because he already had mild digestive issues; it made sure his hair wasn’t starved of key nutrients even on busy or irregular days.
Hair Ras (Ayurvedic): Two tablets after breakfast and two after dinner. This herbal blend was chosen to cool excess pitta, nourish the deeper tissues, and support hair from within over a 6–8 month period.
Health Tatva (Ayurvedic): One tablet after breakfast and one after dinner. Since his metabolism and digestion were part of the root cause, this digestive stimulant would help improve nutrient absorption, energy levels, and gut health - closing the loop on the digestion and hair fall connection he hadn’t really considered before.
He was also guided on simple habits: following the diet plan in the app, walking after meals, sipping warm water, and using the “build habit” feature in the Traya app to tick off his daily routine and earn coins for future discounts.
The Emotional Shift: From “Slowly Losing” to “Actively Treating”
By the end of the call, something subtle had shifted for Arjun. Nothing in his hair changed in that half hour, but his relationship with the problem did.
He now knew why his hair had been thinning for years. He understood that it wasn’t just bad luck; it was genetics mixed with dandruff, mild digestive issues, and nutrition. He knew what to expect in the coming months, including the scary shedding phase, and exactly what each product in his kit was doing.
Most importantly, he didn’t feel alone. He had a coach, a clear plan, and a timeline.
For many men dealing with hair fall due to anemia, gut issues, or hormones, that clarity and support are often the first real step toward iron deficiency hair fall recovery or regaining control over their scalp health. For Arjun, this was the day his hair fall stopped being an invisible enemy and became a structured journey he could actually manage.
