Rahul’s 8-Month Plan to Tackle Hair Fall & Dandruff

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Main concern: Rahul, a 34-year-old from Northeast India, had long-term hair fall (around 5–10+ years) and wanted regrowth and better control.
  • What was going on underneath: Heavy dandruff on an oily scalp, itching, and disturbed sleep with anxiety in the background.
  • What he used: Anti-dandruff shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%), Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%), Scalp Oil mixed with the Scalp Therapy oil shot, and Hair Ras tablets. Nasal drops were avoided due to sinus concerns.
  • Timeline he was guided for: First 3 months focused on internal health + dandruff; months 4–6 on hair fall control and scalp improvement; visible regrowth expected around month 8 onward.
  • Outcome in this story: More than a kit, Rahul walked away with a clear routine, realistic expectations about hairline regrowth, and a personalized hair treatment plan he could actually stick to.

“The box is here… now what?”

Rahul’s call didn’t start with panic. It started with a very real, very practical question: “Traya ka box mere paas deliver ho gaya… ab product use kaise karna hai?”

But behind that simple line was a bigger story.

He had been watching his hair thin out over the years. At one point, he told the coach, “Pehle mera… pura tha. Abhi to jhadte-jhadte… itna reh gaya.” The photos he’d shared made it feel even more real - enough that he wanted to do something, but not enough that he knew where to begin.

And that’s where the call became less about “how to apply” and more about understanding what he was actually dealing with.

When hair fall becomes “normal” for years

As the coach asked questions, Rahul tried to pin down the timeline. Some days it felt like “10–15 saal,” other days it felt like “5–6 saal ya 10 saal.” What didn’t change was the pattern: it started small, and then it kept adding up.

He hadn’t taken any treatment before. No ongoing medications. No major health issues that he could confirm. But there were two things he was clear about.

One: “Dandruff heavy hai.”
Two: “Sleep thoda disturb rehta hai,” and anxiety had been mentioned in the context of a past check-up.

This wasn’t just hair fall. It was hair fall happening on a scalp that was already irritated and overloaded.

The root cause that showed up on his nails

Rahul described his dandruff in a way many people immediately recognize: after he wet his hair and scratched his scalp, “nakhun mein aa jaata hai bahut saara.”

He also shared that his scalp was oily - face oily, scalp oily, and even the itching felt “oil hi aa raha hai.”

That combination matters. Heavy dandruff on an oily scalp can create a cycle: the scalp feels uncomfortable, you scratch more, flakes and buildup keep returning, and hair fall can start feeling worse simply because the scalp environment isn’t calm. For anyone dealing with dandruff and dry scalp hair loss, the scalp often needs to be stabilized before expecting regrowth.

On top of that, disturbed sleep and ongoing stress can quietly keep the body in a “wired” state - making recovery feel slower, and hair health harder to support consistently.

Q: Can dandruff cause hair fall?

Yes - dandruff can trigger itching and inflammation. When scratching becomes frequent, hair can shed more easily, and the scalp environment becomes less supportive for healthy growth.

The moment he needed honesty, not hype

When the coach looked at Rahul’s photos, she didn’t promise overnight miracles. She gave him a timeline and, importantly, a reality check about the front hairline.

She explained that visible changes are typically seen where “tiny small hairs” are still present, and that front hairline regrowth can be difficult - Traya doesn’t assure hairline regrowth, but the aim is to maintain the current hairline and prevent it from getting worse with consistent use.

Rahul’s response was simple: “Theek hai.”
Not excitement. Not disappointment. Relief. Because clarity is calming.

His biggest doubts were about usage, not belief

Rahul didn’t sound skeptical about whether the products would work - he sounded unsure about how to do everything correctly.

He asked if the oil would feel heavy. He tried to understand whether the night lotion and shampoo should be used on the same day. He struggled with taking the right photos in the right lighting. He even brought up that he had done a clean shave recently - and the coach gently corrected him, advising against clean shaving during the treatment.

This is what many people don’t realize about hair care: the hardest part isn’t buying the kit. It’s executing it.

The routine that made it feel doable

The coach broke the kit down into a simple, repeatable flow - especially for dandruff control:

Rahul was advised to use the Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole IP 2%) two to three times a week like a normal shampoo. For stubborn dandruff, the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole IP 2% w/v) was to be used three nights a week, spread gently over the scalp without rubbing.

Then came the scalp nourishment: the Scalp Oil (with coconut oil base and Ayurvedic herbs like amalaki, bhringraj, brahmi, prepared via sneh pak dravya) was to be mixed once with the Scalp Therapy booster shot (castor oil with ORPL, bergamot, and ylang ylang), and applied at least twice a week, 30 minutes before washing.

The “three-in-one” sequence was what finally clicked for him: night lotion at night, oil the next morning (on oil days), then shampoo after 30 minutes.

And for internal support, he was told to take Hair Ras tablets daily after meals - two after breakfast and two after dinner. In Traya’s Ayurvedic logic, Hair Ras helps balance pitta dosha, supports circulation to hair follicles, and nourishes tissue like asthi dhatu - positioned as daily nourishment for hair health from within.

When “one more product” wasn’t the answer

Rahul was also given Nasal Grit (nasal drops) because it’s meant to support stress and sleep - since Ayurveda considers the nose a gateway to the head (“Nasa hi shirso dwaram”).

But Rahul mentioned a sinus issue and reduced ability to smell. The coach did something crucial: she prioritized safety and asked him not to use the nasal drops, advising a return and suggesting he get his nose-related issue checked.

That moment is what personalization looks like in real life. Not everything is for everyone.

To support stress and disturbed sleep instead, he was advised Calm Ras (a tablet with herbs like jatamansi, ashwagandha, brahmi, and tagar), taken after dinner as part of a longer course.

The “progress plan” that kept him from quitting early

Rahul was told what to expect - so he wouldn’t judge the treatment too early.

The coach mapped it out as: first 3 months focusing on internal health and dandruff; months 4–6 focusing on hair fall control and scalp improvement; and from month 8 onwards, more visible regrowth.

That kind of expectation-setting matters because it stops people from dropping off right when consistency is starting to pay off.

Resolution: a calmer scalp, a clearer mind, a steadier routine

This story doesn’t end with a dramatic “before-after” photo - because Rahul had just begun. But it ends with something more realistic: he moved from confusion to clarity.

He knew what to apply, when to apply it, and why the dandruff had to be addressed first. He understood that his hairline might not dramatically change, but his overall hair fall and scalp health could improve with consistency. He even booked a follow-up call for updates - because this wasn’t meant to be a one-time purchase.

For Rahul, the shift was simple: the problem stopped feeling messy. And when a routine feels manageable, people actually follow it - and that’s where real change begins.
