Neeraj’s Thinning Hair Journey: A Clear Routine

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Key problem: Neeraj noticed his hair had become noticeably thinner, even though he said, “Mera hair fall nahin ho raha… haath mein nahi aata.”
  • Root causes discussed: digestion and nutrition concerns, genetics, and occasional gas/acidity (about 1–2 times a week), plus anxiety.
  • What he used: Minoxidil 5% (twice daily), Defence Shampoo, Scalp Oil + Growth Therapy shot (twice weekly), Hair Ras, Hair Vitamin, and Digest Boost.
  • Timeline he was prepared for: an 8–12 month commitment, starting with internal health and moving toward visible thickness around months 10–12.
  • Outcome/shift: a clear, doable routine and reassurance about early shedding and long-term consistency - so he could start without fear.

The moment Neeraj said it out loud, it sounded almost like a contradiction: “Mera hair fall nahin ho raha… haath mein nahi aata.” No hair on his palms, no dramatic shedding. And yet, he immediately added the part that actually worried him: “Patla ho gaya hai.”

That’s how hair loss often sneaks in - quietly. Not as clumps in the shower drain, but as a slow change you can’t unsee once you notice it.

When thinning feels real (even without shedding)

Neeraj, who had been dealing with thinning for around a year to a year and a half, had just joined Traya. On the call, his hair coach walked him through what the hair test suggested: stage 3 hair loss, with root causes flagged around digestion, nutrition, and genetics.

Neeraj also confirmed something many people brush off as “normal”: gas and acidity that popped up once or twice a week. Add to that the mention of anxiety (he’d sometimes take tablets for it), and you start to see why this wasn’t only about what was happening on his scalp.

He wasn’t panicking, but he was cautious. He needed clarity, not hype.

The root cause wasn’t just “hair” - it was inside-out

The coach explained that Neeraj’s pattern pointed to a mix: genetics, plus internal health factors like digestion and nutrition. That matters because when digestion is off - when acidity, gas, bloating, or discomfort become routine - your body’s ability to process and absorb nutrients takes a hit. And hair follicles are surprisingly sensitive to that supply chain.

This is the digestion and hair fall connection many people miss: even if you’re eating “fine,” poor digestion can mean your hair roots still aren’t getting what they need consistently.

On top of that, genetics can make hair follicles more vulnerable over time, which is why the approach had to be steady and long-term, not a quick fix.

Q: Can digestion issues really affect hair thinning?

Yes. When digestion is disturbed, nutrient absorption can suffer. Over time, that can reduce the quality of nourishment reaching hair follicles, making thinning more noticeable - especially if genetics is already playing a role.

The questions he asked that revealed the real hesitation

Neeraj’s doubts weren’t dramatic - they were practical. The kind that decide whether you’ll actually stick to a routine.

He double-checked the basics: the dropper measurement. “Jo dropper hai, pura 1 ml ka hai?” He wanted to be sure he was doing it right.

He asked about real life, not ideal life. If he applied minoxidil and then had to go out - “Market mein jaate hain, helmet lagate hain toh?” The coach reassured him it was fine, just wait about 15 minutes after applying before wearing a helmet.

And when the coach warned him about initial shedding with minoxidil, Neeraj echoed it back - almost testing the idea: “Hair fall badhana…?” That was the fear underneath: What if it gets worse?

The coach handled it gently: early shedding can happen for a few weeks because weaker hair sheds first, making way for stronger, healthier hair. He framed it as a “positive sign” that the scalp is responding.

A plan that didn’t just sound good - it sounded doable

The turning point in Neeraj’s call wasn’t a promise. It was structure.

The coach laid out a time horizon: 8–12 months, with internal health focus in the first 1–3 months, then hair fall control around months 4–6, deeper work on roots around months 7–9, and visible changes closer to months 10–12 - especially around the crown.

He also set expectations about hairline regrowth being harder, while reassuring Neeraj that consistency could help maintain his current hairline and prevent it from getting worse.

Most importantly, he gave a routine Neeraj could follow without confusion - this is what a personalized hair treatment plan looks like when it’s explained like a human conversation.

What Neeraj was told to use - and why it fit his case

Neeraj’s kit included Defence Shampoo, Digest Boost, Hair Ras, Hair Vitamin, Minoxidil 5%, and Scalp Oil with a Growth Therapy shot.

Minoxidil 5% was the daily anchor. The coach instructed him to apply 1 ml twice a day on a dry scalp, dropping it onto the affected areas and spreading it lightly without rubbing or massaging. In Traya’s approach, minoxidil supports hair growth by improving nutrient-rich blood flow to hair follicles through its vasodilating effect, helping reverse the shrinking of follicles seen in pattern hair loss.

For internal support, Digest Boost was added - one tablet in the morning and one at night. It’s designed to support digestion by improving digestive function and gut motility, which can matter when digestion is part of the root-cause picture.

Hair Ras came in as a longer-term daily Ayurvedic nourishment step - two tablets in the morning and two at night. It’s positioned as “Chavanprash for the hair,” supporting scalp and hair health by balancing Pitta and improving blood circulation to follicles, along with tissue nourishment.

Hair Vitamin was the simple once-a-day nutrition layer (one capsule after breakfast), used to support common nutritional gaps and hair health with vitamins, minerals, and natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract.

And then there was the scalp routine: Scalp Oil mixed with the Growth Therapy shot, used twice a week, half an hour before a morning wash. The coach’s instruction was very specific: don’t mix once and store - mix the shot into the larger bottle properly, then use it. The scalp oil, built on a coconut oil base with herbs like amalaki, bhringraj, and brahmi, is meant to support scalp health and stimulate follicles through nourishing massage.

The small lifestyle fixes that protect consistency

Neeraj didn’t need motivation quotes. He needed habits that survive busy days.

So the coach suggested using the Traya app habit tracker, keeping topicals near the bed so they stay in sight, and storing supplements near the eating area so they’re harder to forget. He also encouraged regular check-ins every 10–12 days, and they booked the next call for around 11 to 11:30.

Because with thinning, the biggest risk isn’t “wrong product.” It’s dropping off too early - right before the routine starts to compound.

Resolution: clarity, calm, and a routine he could start today

By the end of the call, Neeraj sounded settled. “Likh liya main,” he said - he’d written it down. No confusion. No guessing. Just a plan.

The transformation here wasn’t visible hair yet - it was something that comes first: confidence in the process. Neeraj began with one clear understanding: even if he wasn’t seeing hair in his hands, thinning was real, and it deserved a consistent inside-out approach.

And that’s where his journey truly started.
