Neeraj’s 8-Month Plan to Tackle Thinning Hair

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Problem: Hair fall for 1.5–2 years, with a receding hairline and a main goal of better thickness and density
  • Context behind the struggle: First-time treatment, occasional gastric acidity/gas, and lifestyle questions around smoking/alcohol while starting care
  • What he used: Minoxidil, Defence Shampoo, Scalp Oil mixed with Growth Therapy booster oil, plus Hair Ras, Health Tatva, and Hair Vitamin
  • Timeline shared by the coach: 1–3 months (internal health), 4–6 months (better scalp/follicle health + control), 7–8 months (visible changes)
  • Outcome to aim for: Better hair quality and volume, hair fall control, and slowing further hairline recession (with a chance of improvement in some cases)

The day the kit arrived, the questions got real

When Neeraj, a working professional from India, received his Traya kit, he wasn’t panicking about going bald.

He was worried about something more quietly unsettling: his hair had been thinning for a while, and the front hairline had started “going backward.” It had been happening for “around 1.5 to 2 years,” and like many people, he tried to ignore it - until he couldn’t.

On the welcome call, he said it plainly: “I’m not having that much baldness. I’m just looking for thickness… I thought it will increase my hair… so I ordered this thing. How… I don’t know how it is helpful.”

That line carried two things at once: hope, and genuine uncertainty.

Living with hair fall that doesn’t feel urgent - until it does

Neeraj hadn’t tried any dedicated hair-loss treatment before. No serums, no long routines, no consultations. He had used a multivitamin earlier, but he’d stopped it about two months before starting Traya.

And yet, the hair fall stayed.

When hair loss stretches from “last year” into a second year, it begins to feel less like a phase and more like a pattern. You start noticing your hair in the mirror at different angles. You notice the hairline. You wonder if you should act now - or if it’s already late.

For Neeraj, the goal wasn’t dramatic regrowth overnight. It was a more relatable win: density, thickness, and not letting the hairline slip further.

The context that mattered: consistency, lifestyle, and a stomach that sometimes acts up

During the call, Neeraj mentioned he didn’t have dandruff. He also confirmed he didn’t have issues like low BP, asthma, sinus, migraine, or folliculitis.

But one detail did come up: occasional gastric acidity and gas - especially when meals were delayed. That matters because, in Traya’s Ayurvedic lens, gut health and absorption are closely tied to nourishment reaching the follicles. It’s the reason Traya often speaks about the digestion and hair fall connection in a way that feels practical, not preachy: if your system isn’t absorbing well, your hair doesn’t receive what it needs consistently.

Neeraj also asked a very human question - one that many people hesitate to ask out loud: after starting “medicine and all,” can he drink or smoke occasionally?

He even added he planned to stop, but wanted clarity for “urgent” social situations. It wasn’t just about habits - it was about whether he could realistically stick to a routine without feeling like his life had to freeze.

Root cause, explained like a real life pattern (not a diagnosis)

Neeraj’s story doesn’t point to one single cause like dandruff, anaemia, or a hormonal condition. What it does show is a common modern combination: long-duration hair fall, early pattern changes (like a receding hairline), and occasional digestive discomfort that flares when routine slips.

From Traya’s approach, that’s exactly why a personalized hair treatment plan matters. It isn’t only about applying a product. It’s about building a routine that supports scalp and follicle health while also improving internal support systems like digestion and nutrient absorption - especially when someone is starting their first proper treatment journey.

Q: Can digestion issues really affect hair quality and shedding?

Yes. When digestion and absorption aren’t steady, the body may not consistently draw nourishment from food - so follicles can end up under-supported over time. That’s why Traya’s internal products often focus on metabolism and gut function alongside topical care.

The moment he needed reassurance: “Will it take time? Will it get worse first?”

Neeraj didn’t have doubts about the 8-month timeline once it was explained - but he did need help understanding what the journey would look like.

His coach broke it down simply: in months 1–3, the focus is internal health; months 4–6 are about controlling hair fall and improving follicular and scalp health; and by months 7–8, visible changes and regrowth may start showing.

Then came another vulnerability point - one many people aren’t prepared for: the possibility of increased shedding when starting minoxidil. The coach proactively explained that if Neeraj noticed hair fall increasing, he “does not need to worry,” because it can happen as weaker strands shed to make way for healthier growth.

That’s often the difference between someone quitting in week three versus staying consistent long enough to see change.

The turning point: a routine he could actually follow

Neeraj’s biggest win from the call wasn’t just product information - it was clarity. The coach turned a box of products into a daily plan.

Here’s what Neeraj was guided to do:

He was asked to use minoxidil 1 ml in the morning and 1 ml at night, applied only on the visible scalp areas, gently spread, without rubbing or massaging.

He was guided to use Defence Shampoo two to three times a week to cleanse the scalp without harsh chemicals, supporting scalp health over time.

For oiling, he was told to mix the Growth Therapy booster oil into the Scalp Oil bottle, and apply it twice a week about 30 minutes before shampooing. When Neeraj asked if he could apply oil at night and wash in the morning, the coach corrected him - since minoxidil was already part of his night routine, oiling overnight at the same time wouldn’t be ideal.

And then came the internal support:

Hair Ras was prescribed as two tablets in the morning and two at night. In Traya’s Ayurvedic logic, Hair Ras is designed for daily natural hair nourishment and supports scalp and hair health by balancing pitta dosha and improving blood flow to the follicles, while nourishing asthi dhatu.

Health Tatva was prescribed as one tablet in the morning and one at night - positioned as support for metabolism and better nutrient absorption in the gut, which is crucial when you’re trying to feed hair follicles from within.

Hair Vitamin was added at night to help cover nutritional gaps that can contribute to hair thinning, especially when diet alone isn’t consistently meeting needs.

Importantly, Neeraj was told to take the tablets after meals, not on an empty stomach - an especially relevant detail given his occasional acidity.

Resolution: what “success” looks like for Neeraj

Neeraj didn’t come in asking for miracles. He came in asking for thickness, and for his hairline to stop getting worse.

The coach didn’t overpromise either: regrowth at a receding hairline can be difficult, but the goal is to prevent it from worsening and support overall density and hair quality - while staying consistent for the full timeline.

By the end of the call, Neeraj sounded steadier. He was clear on what to do, when to do it, and what to expect if shedding happened early. He even agreed to a follow-up call in 10–12 days - because this wasn’t meant to be a one-time purchase. It was meant to be guided.

And for someone starting their first treatment after 1.5–2 years of hair fall, that guidance can be the difference between “I tried something” and “I stayed with a plan long enough to see change.”
