When Gajala Realised It Was More Than “Just Hair”
The first thing that bothered her wasn’t actually the hair fall. It was those few greyish strands.
Gajala, a young working woman from a smaller city, mentioned it almost as an afterthought at the end of her call: “Mujhe ek aur problem hai… mere greyish hairs ho rahe hain, teen chaar aise kuchh dikh rahe hain.” She had signed up for Traya because her hair was thinning and dandruff wouldn’t go away, but those early greys felt like a warning bell that something deeper was off.
By the time her Traya kit arrived, she was juggling skin medications, a busy schedule, and constant worry about whether she was doing the right thing for her hair. What she did not have was clarity on why her hair was falling in the first place.
That started to change on this first call with her Traya hair coach.
Connecting the Dots: Dandruff, Digestion, Nutrition and Hormones
The coach didn’t jump straight into “use this, don’t use that.” She began with reassurance: Traya supplements wouldn’t interfere with her existing skin tablets. Then she gently walked Gajala through what her hair test had revealed.
Her root causes weren’t limited to just one problem. There were four clear layers working together against her hair: chronic dandruff, digestion issues, nutritional gaps and hormonal imbalance.
The coach explained that when the scalp stays irritated and flaky for long, the follicles get inflamed and weak. On top of that, if digestion isn’t strong and the body isn’t absorbing nutrients properly, even a good diet doesn’t fully reach the roots. Add hormones that aren’t stable, and the follicles are constantly receiving mixed signals - when to shed, when to grow, and how strong each strand should be.
It meant her hair fall wasn’t random. It was the visible symptom of what was happening inside.
Can dandruff really cause long-term hair loss?
The coach broke it down simply: yes, especially when dandruff is stubborn and left untreated. The flaky scalp isn’t just cosmetic - it creates a hostile environment for hair roots. Constant itching, buildup and fungal overgrowth can trigger dandruff and dry scalp hair loss over time. Once that is brought under control and the scalp is clean, growth products and serums can finally reach the follicles properly and start working.
Learning the Routine: From Oil Shots to Supplements
Once the “why” was clear, the “how” had to feel manageable. Gajala’s biggest fear was around usage: what to take when, and whether she would mess it up.
Her coach broke the routine into two parts - hair wash days and daily routine.
For wash days, twice a week, the plan was simple. Traya’s Scalp Oil would be mixed with the Dandruff Therapy booster shot in the same bottle and shaken well. This Sneh pak oil, made by slowly cooking herbs like amla and bhringraj in coconut oil and goat milk, was meant to nourish and stimulate the follicles, while the dandruff booster helped tackle heavy dandruff and itching. She only had to keep it on for thirty minutes, not overnight, and then wash with Defence Shampoo followed by Defence Conditioner on the lengths.
The Anti-dandruff Night Lotion with ketoconazole was her night-before ritual. On evenings before a hair wash, she’d apply this on her scalp and leave it overnight. By the next morning, the scalp would be ready for the oil and shampoo. Ketoconazole works on the fungus that drives stubborn dandruff, while aloe vera and vitamin E soothe the irritated scalp.
Her coach also addressed a very practical doubt: what to do when the oil freezes in winter. Instead of telling her to “figure it out,” she suggested keeping the bottle near something warm or dipping it in slightly warm water so the coconut-based oil would melt without damage. It was a tiny detail, but for Gajala, it made the process feel doable.
The Supplements: Working on Digestion, Hormones and Nutrition
Inside her kit were three oral supplements designed specifically for the root causes showing up in her hair test.
Hair Vitamin was her nutritional safety net. Packed with biotin, vitamins, minerals and natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract and bhringraj, it helped cover those quiet deficiencies that often show up first as thinning hair. Taken after breakfast, it supported hair and skin health without disturbing her skin medication.
Her Nourish was the second pillar, twice daily. Built with Myo-inositol, D‑chiro inositol and herbs like Latakaranja, Deodar, Punarnava and Kantakari, it supported hormonal balance and menstrual health, especially in women whose hair is affected by PCOS-like patterns or insulin resistance. For someone like Gajala, where hormones showed up as a key trigger, this was the silent stabiliser in the background.
Hair Santulan 01 was her metabolic and stress support. With herbs like bhringaraj, amalaki, shatavari and iron bhasma, it addressed stress, metabolism, bloating and constipation in one go. Her coach explained that digestion and hair fall connection is very real - if the gut is sluggish, toxins build up and nutrients don’t efficiently reach the scalp, no matter how good the diet looks on paper.
All supplements were clearly slotted: three tablets after breakfast (Hair Vitamin plus two Her Nourish), two Her Nourish again after dinner, and Hair Santulan 01 at night after dinner. No empty stomach doses, and if she missed a morning, she could safely shift that dose to after lunch.
Doubts, Fears and the Hard Truth About Shedding
At one point, her line went silent and then she quietly asked the question every hair fall sufferer thinks: when will I see results?
The coach didn’t overpromise. She explained that the first two months would primarily focus on cleaning dandruff and preparing the scalp. Only once the scalp was clear would a growth serum like Recap Serum or Minoxidil be added in future kits.
She also prepared Gajala for something that often scares people away - initial shedding.
When a growth serum is added later, weaker, miniaturised hair often shed faster so stronger strands can take their place. The coach compared it to dry yellow leaves falling so that fresh green leaves can grow. For Gajala, this honest explanation meant that if she saw some increase in hair fall later, she wouldn’t panic and stop everything.
At the end of the call, she brought up her early greys. The coach was gentle but direct: the current white or grey hairs wouldn’t turn black again, but with supplements like Hair Ras/Hair Santulan and a balanced diet, premature greying could be delayed, and follicle health protected. Chemical-heavy products were a clear no.
Guided, Not Left Alone
What struck Gajala most wasn’t just the products; it was the system built around them. The Traya app showed her exactly “how to start your kit,” complete with usage instructions, a personalised diet plan, and a log-and-earn section where she could tick off her daily doses and earn coins for future discounts.
If she had questions, she could schedule calls or use chat instead of guessing on her own. Her coach kept returning to two words: patience and regularity. Her results, the coach said, would unfold month by month - hair fall first stabilising, then reducing, and finally new baby hair appearing where scalp once showed.
It wasn’t a magic shortcut. It was a mapped-out journey.
The Quiet Shift in Confidence
By the end of that one call, nothing about her hair had physically changed yet - but a lot had shifted in her mind.
She now understood that her hair fall wasn’t just “weak hair” but a mix of dandruff, digestion, nutrition and hormones. She knew exactly how to use each oil, shampoo, lotion and tablet. She knew that initial shedding in future wouldn’t mean failure. And she knew that while the few grey strands she already had might stay, she could slow down premature greying with the right internal support.
Most importantly, she had a personalised hair treatment plan, not a random collection of products. For someone who had been silently worried about “what if this gets worse?”, that clarity itself was the first big step towards recovery.
