When “Just Dandruff” Turned Into Two Years of Hair Fall: Prakash’s Journey to Real Regrowth
For almost two and a half years, Prakash (32, Nagpur) brushed off his scalp troubles as “sirf dandruff hai.” The flakes were heavy, the itching was constant, and slowly his hair started thinning. But because there was no illness, no major medical history, and he otherwise felt “healthy hoon,” he never connected his scalp and digestion issues to his stubborn hair fall.
It was only when he realised the hair fall wasn’t stopping on its own that he decided to try Traya. On his very first welcome call, he told his coach he’d been facing “hair fall actually two and half year” and had “heavy dandruff.” He hadn’t taken any earlier treatment, nor was he on any regular medications. What felt like a simple case of dandruff and hair fall turned out to be a textbook example of how dandruff, digestion and nutrition together can quietly damage hair over years.
What Was Really Causing His Hair Fall?
When Prakash’s hair test report came in, his coach Arpit went through it before the call. On the call he reconfirmed:
“Jaisa ki main aapke hair test mein dekh pa raha hoon, jo aapko hair fall ke pichhe ka root cause hai, woh hai digestion, nutrition aur dandruff.”
So Prakash wasn’t just dealing with flakes on the scalp. Three systems were out of balance:
1. Heavy dandruff and scalp inflammation
Prakash himself agreed, “haan, heavy dandruff hai.”Dandruff is not just about white flakes; it’s often driven by a fungus (Malassezia) and excess scalp oil. This leads to:
- Chronic itching and scratching
- Micro‑inflammation around hair follicles
- Build‑up that suffocates roots
Over time, this kind of stubborn dandruff and dry scalp can cause dandruff and dry scalp hair loss by weakening follicles and pushing hair into the shedding (telogen) phase early.
2. Disturbed digestion and gut health
Arpit explained that Prakash’s hair test showed issues with digestion. Poor digestion and sluggish gut motility mean:- Nutrients from food aren’t absorbed well
- Toxins (ama) start accumulating in the gut
- The gut microbiome becomes imbalanced
When your gut can’t absorb what you’re eating, even the best diet doesn’t reach your hair follicles. This digestion and hair fall connection is one of the most ignored reasons for chronic hair loss.
3. Nutrition gaps
Prakash wasn’t on any supplements and had no major illnesses, but his hair test suggested nutritional deficiencies contributing to weak roots and slower regrowth. Hair is a non‑essential tissue as far as the body is concerned; when nutrients are low, hair is the first to get compromised.Together, these three — heavy dandruff, compromised digestion, and nutrition gaps — were driving his two‑and‑a‑half‑year‑long hair fall.
Q&A: Does dandruff really cause hair loss?
Yes, especially when it’s heavy and long‑standing. Persistent dandruff triggers inflammation and itching. Constant scratching and fungal irritation damage the scalp barrier and hair follicles, leading to increased hair shedding. When treated early with the right anti‑dandruff actives and scalp care, this form of hair fall is reversible.
The Doubts on Day One: “Side effect to nahin hai na?”
Once Arpit explained the expected timeline and kit, Prakash quickly asked the question almost everyone wants to ask but hesitates:
“Ye medicines ko koi side effect to nahin hai na?”
He wasn’t worried only about whether the products would work; he wanted to know if he’d have to “pay a price” later with hidden side effects or dependency. For someone already dealing with long‑term hair fall, the fear is very real:
- Will this make things worse?
- Will my scalp react?
- Is it safe to take for months?
Arpit addressed this clearly and repeatedly:
- “Traya ke product pure herbal Ayurvedic hain. Iska koi bhi side effect nahin hai. Absolutely safe to consume hai.”
- He also explained that any future switch to minoxidil for regrowth would be done only after dandruff control and under guidance.
By answering this upfront, the coach helped build the trust needed for Prakash to stay consistent for months — something critical for results.
How Hair Fall Was Affecting His Daily Life
Prakash didn’t use dramatic words, but his story says enough:
- Two and a half years of ongoing hair fall
- Heavy dandruff that needed a medicated night lotion and oil shots
- Visible concern about “hair regrowth” and “hairline”
Like many men in their early 30s, he was looking for reassurance that it wouldn’t “get worse.” He listened very carefully when Arpit told him:
- “Pehle ek se do mahine mein hum aapke dandruff pe work karenge, jisse aapka jo hair fall ho raha hai woh kam ho jaayega.”
- “Teen se chaar mahine mein aapko visible reduction hoga hair fall mein.”
- “Paanchve mahine mein aapko regrowth dekhne ko mil jaayegi.”
For someone who has lived with daily hair fall for years, even the promise that “aur bhi worse nahin hoga” is a big emotional relief. The structured timeline gave him something concrete to hold on to instead of vague hope.
How the Traya Hair Coach Built a Personalized Treatment Plan
Instead of just sending a generic “anti‑hairfall” kit, Arpit carefully mapped the treatment to each of Prakash’s root causes:
1. Clearing heavy dandruff and protecting follicles
- Anti‑Dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%)
- Anti‑Dandruff Oil Shot + Scalp Oil
- Defence Shampoo
This three‑step dandruff protocol ensured that hair fall due to scalp inflammation was tackled from all sides.
2. Fixing digestion and gut detox
Prakash’s kit also targeted his internal root causes:
- Gutt Shuddhi
3. Rebuilding nutritional reserves
- Hair Vitamin
- Hair Ras (Pitta‑balancing hair tonic)
4. Future regrowth plan
Arpit also aligned expectations:
“Jaise hi aapka dandruff control ho jaayega, main jaise dekh paa raha hoon aapko regrowth ki need hai hairline pe. Hamare paas ek serum hai minoxidil, hum aapko us pe switch kar denge for regrowth.”
So the plan was phased:
- Months 1–2: Control dandruff, reduce active hair fall
- Months 3–4: Improve follicle health, visible reduction in shedding
- Month 5 onward: Introduce minoxidil serum if needed for targeted regrowth, especially at the hairline
Support Beyond Products: Making Consistency Easy
Prakash also worried about practical issues like “consume kaise karna hai medicine?” and managing a multi‑step routine. Arpit broke it down into simple, habit‑friendly steps:
- Keep serum/lotions on the dressing table or bedside table
- Keep supplements on the dining table
- If a morning dose is missed, take it after lunch instead of skipping
- Use the Traya app’s “login and coins” feature to log doses and earn discounts on the next kit
He also encouraged regular follow‑ups:
“Hum recommend karte hain aap har 10–12 din mein humse connect karein, taaki hum aapki progress effectively track kar saken.”
This kind of coach‑led, personalized hair treatment plan — with real‑time adjustments and monitoring — is what keeps people on track for 5–8 months, the time actually required for deep changes in scalp, gut and hair cycles.
