Nikhil’s Hair Fall + Dandruff Turning Point

Nikhil’s Hair Fall + Dandruff Turning Point

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Main concern: Nikhil had been dealing with hair fall for over 1–2 years, with a strong feeling that his “hair roots are very weak,” plus heavy dandruff.
  • Underlying root causes: Heavy dandruff that can trigger dandruff and dry scalp hair loss, along with gastric issues (gas) pointing to a digestion and hair fall connection.
  • What he used: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (ketoconazole 2%), Scalp Oil (with a booster oil mixed in), Gutt Shuddhi tablets, Hair Ras, and Hair Vitamins; later, a plan to switch to Minoxidil serum once dandruff is controlled.
  • Timeline he was coached for: Months 1–3 focused on internal and scalp health and dandruff; months 4–6 focused on hair fall control; months 7–8 aimed at visible changes like regrowth and better density.
  • Outcome: Not an overnight promise - rather, a realistic, guided plan to first calm the scalp and gut, then work toward stronger roots and gradual improvement.

“My roots feel very weak.”

Nikhil didn’t call it a “phase.” He called it his actual problem.

When Traya’s hair coach checked in after his kit got delivered, Nikhil explained that his hair fall had been going on for “one - two years or more.” He hadn’t tried doctor-led treatment before - just the usual oil and shampoo. But now, the worry had sharpened into something more specific: “My hair roots are very weak.”

And then there was the second layer to it. The one that made it harder to ignore.

“Later, dandruff became an issue,” he said, and he described it as heavy dandruff - enough that it felt like another battle on top of the hair fall.

What was really going on beneath the hair fall

Two clues stood out clearly in Nikhil’s conversation: heavy dandruff and gastric discomfort (gas). On the surface, they sound unrelated. In real life, they often overlap - because hair doesn’t operate in isolation.

With heavy dandruff, the scalp can become irritated, itchy, and inflamed. When itching becomes frequent, it can lead to more hair fall simply because the scalp environment is disturbed and the hair starts to shed more easily. The goal here isn’t to jump straight to “regrowth.” It’s to first get the scalp back into a healthier, calmer baseline.

The second clue was his digestion. Nikhil mentioned “gas problem” and the coach immediately connected it to the internal part of the plan. In Ayurveda, gut balance and toxin clearance are often treated as foundational for hair health. Traya’s approach doesn’t treat hair fall as only a topical issue - it works from within too, especially when digestive discomfort is part of the picture.

Q: Can gut issues and dandruff worsen hair fall together?

Yes - when digestion is disturbed, nutrient absorption and overall internal balance can suffer, and when the scalp is inflamed with heavy dandruff, hair can shed more easily. Working on both improves the “ground” your hair grows from.

The doubt that made him hesitate about regrowth

Nikhil wasn’t looking for motivational lines. He was practical - and a little skeptical.

He said it plainly: people talk about regrowth, but “I haven’t really seen anyone’s hair regrow.” If it happens, great - but he wasn’t going to blindly trust it.

That honesty became an important turning point, because instead of overselling, the coach gave him a realistic expectation: hairline recovery is harder, and in many cases the focus is to maintain and prevent further damage, especially if an area is already completely bare.

The impact: living with two problems at once

Hair fall alone can feel draining. Add heavy dandruff, and it becomes even more frustrating - because now it’s not just the strands in your hand, it’s also the constant feeling that your scalp isn’t “normal” anymore.

Nikhil’s main concern kept circling back to root strength. He wasn’t talking about styling or looks. He was talking about weakness - like the hair was losing its grip.

That’s exactly where a personalized hair treatment plan becomes useful: it turns vague worry into a routine you can actually follow.

The turning point: a coach who made it feel manageable

Nikhil had already checked the Traya app for instructions, but the call helped translate it into a simple weekly rhythm - and set expectations about time.

The coach mapped the journey in phases:

  • In the first 1–3 months, the focus would be internal health and scalp health, with special attention to dandruff.
  • In months 4–6, hair fall control becomes the clearer focus.
  • From months 7–8 onward, visible changes like regrowth, better volume, and improved density may start showing gradually.

Just hearing that timeline - without exaggeration - helped. Because when you’re worried, you don’t only need products. You need a plan you can trust for long enough to see change.

What Nikhil’s Traya kit included - and why

Nikhil’s routine was built around controlling dandruff, supporting digestion, and nourishing hair from within.

Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (ketoconazole 2%)

For heavy dandruff, the kit included Traya’s Anti-dandruff Night Lotion with ketoconazole 2% w/v. As explained in Traya’s product logic, dandruff is linked to fungus (Malassezia furfur), and ketoconazole helps clear dandruff and scalp build-up to maintain scalp health. Nikhil was guided to apply it three nights a week, spread gently over the scalp and leave it on.

Scalp Oil (with the booster mixed in)

On alternate days, he was guided to apply Scalp Oil - after mixing the small booster bottle into the larger oil bottle all at once. The Scalp Oil is designed to support scalp and follicular nourishment through a medicated oil process (sneh pak dravya), and it’s used as part of an ongoing routine for scalp health and follicle stimulation.

He was told to apply it twice a week, about 30 minutes before washing his hair.

Gutt Shuddhi tablets

Because Nikhil mentioned gas and gastric discomfort, Gutt Shuddhi was already added to his kit. Per Traya’s product logic, Gutt Shuddhi supports gut motility, helps relieve mild constipation, and works as a gut detoxifier - supporting the internal environment that can affect hair health.

His dosage: one tablet at night after dinner.

Hair Ras and Hair Vitamins

To support nourishment from within, the kit included Hair Ras (focused on balancing pitta and supporting scalp and hair health, while improving blood circulation to hair follicles) and Hair Vitamins (to address nutritional gaps and support hair health).

His dosage: Hair Ras, two tablets in the morning and two at night after meals; Hair Vitamins, one tablet after breakfast.

A “later” decision: switching to Minoxidil serum

The coach also set a clear next step: once Nikhil’s dandruff is controlled, the plan is to switch to Minoxidil serum.

This matters because Traya doesn’t treat everything at once. First, calm and clear the scalp. Then, when the scalp environment is more stable, move to a targeted growth solution for pattern hair loss concerns.

Resolution: not instant hope - steady hope

By the end of the call, Nikhil sounded lighter. Not because his hair had magically changed overnight, but because someone finally put structure around his worries: dandruff first, gut support alongside, then hair fall control, and only then visible progress.

And perhaps most importantly, he didn’t feel alone doing it. A follow-up call was booked, and he was encouraged to stay connected through the app - so the plan could stay consistent, and adapt if needed.
