Neeraj’s Fight With Recurring Dandruff and Hair Fall

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Neeraj’s key problem: 3–4 years of hair fall with noticeable thinning on the crown and a receding hairline, plus recurring dandruff that returned within 2–3 days.
  • Likely root cause in his day-to-day: dandruff flare-ups leading to itching and scalp irritation, which can trigger dandruff and dry scalp hair loss over time.
  • What he used: Traya anti-dandruff night lotion and anti-dandruff shampoo first, plus Scalp Oil; alongside internal support with Hair Ras, Health Tatva, and Hair Vitamins.
  • Timeline he was guided on: focus on scalp + internal health in months 1–3, hair fall control in months 4–6, and visible improvement around months 7–8 with consistent use.
  • The shift: he moved from “If dandruff stops, I’m fine” to committing to a structured, personalized hair treatment plan with regular follow-ups.

“Bas dandruff khatam ho jaaye…”

Neeraj, a fitness-focused man from North India, didn’t call Traya because he wanted a dramatic makeover. He called because his scalp wouldn’t stay calm.

His dandruff would disappear when he shampooed, and then - almost like clockwork - show up again in “doosre-teesre din.” And alongside it, his hair was quietly changing. The middle part on the top had started looking emptier, the hair felt “bahut patle,” and the hairline on both sides had receded over the last 5–6 years.

Still, what he wanted sounded simple and honest: “If my dandruff stops, my hair won’t fall. The hair I have - I’m satisfied. If it stays like this, I have no problem.”

That one line captures what so many people feel. Not everyone is chasing new hair. Most people are chasing relief.

When hair fall becomes “normal” for too long

On the call, Neeraj shared that his hair fall had been going on for around 3–4 years, and he hadn’t taken any treatment before. No complicated routine, no half-finished products - just a long stretch of hoping it would settle.

But the signs were adding up: thinning on the crown (the top middle part), visible recession along the hairline, and dandruff that kept returning. The kind that makes you feel like your scalp is never truly “clean,” only temporarily quiet.

Why recurring dandruff can start affecting hair

Neeraj kept linking his shedding to dandruff, and that connection matters.

When dandruff isn’t handled properly, it can lead to persistent itching, scalp irritation, and inflammation. Over time, that irritation can weaken the environment hair follicles need to stay healthy. Even if the hair fall doesn’t feel sudden, the constant cycle of “clear today, back in two days” can keep the scalp in a stressed state - making hair more prone to falling.

In Neeraj’s case, the coach’s priority was clear: first bring the dandruff under control, then move to the next stage of hair regrowth support.

Q: Does dandruff really cause hair fall?

Yes - when dandruff leads to itching and scalp irritation, the hair can start shedding more. Controlling dandruff helps restore scalp health so hair can grow in a healthier environment.

The question he didn’t want to ignore: “Minoxidil safe hai?”

Once the coach explained that after dandruff control they may switch him to a Minoxidil-based serum, Neeraj paused. He’d seen ads, heard mixed opinions, and had a very real life-plan in motion.

He asked, in plain words: “Is Minoxidil safe? Because I’m planning for a baby.”

It wasn’t a casual doubt. It was protective. He didn’t want a hair solution that created a bigger worry.

The coach reassured him about safety and explained that for male pattern hair loss, long-term use is often needed to manage and maintain results. Neeraj didn’t resist that. He just wanted clarity on the commitment: how long would he need to do this?

That’s the vulnerability most people don’t say out loud: “I can do the work, but tell me what I’m signing up for.”

What changed: structure, not just products

The turning point wasn’t a “miracle ingredient.” It was the way the coach broke the journey into something Neeraj could actually follow - without guesswork.

He explained a realistic timeline: months 1–3 would focus on internal health and scalp health (including dandruff), months 4–6 would focus on hair fall control, and from months 7–8 onward, visible changes could start showing gradually - like improved quality, density, and regrowth (especially on the crown area).

He also set expectations honestly about the hairline: changes there can be difficult, and the goal is often to maintain and prevent further damage rather than promise full regrowth on completely plain areas. Neeraj responded calmly: “Surety nahi hai, lekin jitna hai utna rahega.”

Sometimes, relief begins when someone finally tells you the truth - kindly.

Neeraj’s routine, simplified

His kit was designed to first address dandruff and scalp health, while supporting the body internally.

For dandruff control, he was guided to use the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2% w/v) on the scalp at night, three days a week. This product is meant to reduce dandruff and prevent further fungal growth while soothing irritation (it’s enriched with aloe vera and vitamin E as per the product information). Alongside that, he was told to use the Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole IP 2%) two to three times a week, to keep dandruff and scalp buildup in check.

For nourishment and follicle support, he was guided to use Traya Scalp Oil twice a week in the morning, mixed using the small bottle provided, applied about 30 minutes before a head wash. The idea behind the oil massage is classic Ayurvedic shiroabhyanga - calming the mind and supporting circulation to the hair follicles, while nourishing the scalp with medicated oil preparation.

And then came the internal support he could do in “bas do minute” a day: Hair Ras (8-month plan), Health Tatva, and Hair Vitamins (3 months). In Traya’s Ayurvedic approach, Hair Ras is positioned as daily natural hair nourishment that supports scalp and hair health by balancing pitta and improving blood circulation to follicles, while Health Tatva focuses on digestion and nutrient absorption - important because how you absorb nutrition influences how follicles get what they need.

Neeraj didn’t report digestion issues, but the structure still gave his body foundational support - especially when the goal is long-term hair stability, not short-term cover-ups.

Resolution: a calmer scalp, a clearer path

At the end of the call, Neeraj sounded lighter - not because everything was fixed overnight, but because he finally knew what to do next.

He had already started his tablets that morning. He clarified his confusion about what to apply at night and what to apply in the morning, and once he understood the layering - night lotion at night, then scalp oil over it the next morning before a wash - he said, “Samajh gaya.”

His biggest win on Day 1 wasn’t regrowth. It was confidence in the process.

And that matters - because when someone goes from trying random fixes to following a guided plan with check-ins, consistency stops feeling like a burden. It starts feeling like control.
