Neeraj’s Dandruff-to-Thinning Hair Wake-Up Call

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Concern: Hair fall since 2019 with noticeable thinning, especially after recurring dandruff episodes
  • Root causes: Dandruff and dry scalp hair loss triggered by cold weather, plus an inconsistent sleep routine due to duty hours
  • What he used: Anti-dandruff Shampoo, Anti-dandruff Night Lotion, Scalp Oil mixed with a booster shot, plus Hair Ras, Hair Vitamin, Gutt Shuddhi, and Nasal Grit
  • Timeline shared: 1–3 months focused on internal health + dandruff control, 4–6 months for better hair fall control and scalp health, and visible changes around month 8
  • Outcome: A clear, doable routine he could follow even with a busy schedule - “Bas… kaise use karna hai, ye bata dijiye,” became a confident start

“Madam, main vo davai mangavaya tha… usko kaise use karna, samajh mein nahi aa raha.”

That one line carried everything Neeraj, a 34-year-old from Kolkata, was trying to solve - hair that had been thinning for years, dandruff that returned the moment he missed a wash, and the quiet worry of whether he’d even be able to keep up with a routine while constantly on the move for duty.

He wasn’t calling to complain. He was calling because he didn’t want to do it wrong and lose more time.

When dandruff became more than “just flakes”

Neeraj traced his hair fall back to a very specific context. He had spent time in a “barafila area,” and that’s when dandruff began. The dandruff wasn’t always visibly stuck to the scalp, but it showed up the moment he combed: “Kanghi marenge to niche udta hai.” Sometimes it even landed on clothes.

Over time, the pattern became predictable. If he skipped bathing for a day, dandruff would return by the next day. And once dandruff flared up, hair fall followed. “Wahi dandruff hua to samajhiye bal jhadna shuru hua hai.”

He had tried “adivasi oil” earlier for about a month and a half, didn’t see any benefit, and stopped. By 2026, he wasn’t even using oil regularly because the whole cycle felt frustrating: dandruff, then shedding, then thinning.

What his coach noticed first: the scalp, the hairline, and the routine

The turning point in Neeraj’s call wasn’t a dramatic diagnosis. It was the coach slowing things down.

She asked about scalp feel - oily or dry - and Neeraj confirmed it was dry. Then she looked at his photos and asked for clearer hairline images, guiding him patiently through the link upload (not WhatsApp), adjusting angles, and even asking him to push hair back so the front could be assessed properly.

When the picture finally came through, she set expectations clearly. His front hairline regrowth could be difficult, and Traya wouldn’t promise hairline growth - but they would work to maintain the current hairline so it doesn’t worsen, as long as he follows the plan.

That honesty mattered. Because Neeraj wasn’t looking for fancy talk. He just wanted a routine that made sense.

The “why” behind his hair fall: dry dandruff + lifestyle heat-ups

Neeraj’s story sat at the intersection of scalp and schedule.

First, his dandruff was the immediate trigger. Traya’s anti-dandruff products are built around Ketoconazole 2%, which helps reduce dandruff and prevents further growth of fungus while also soothing scalp inflammation. In Neeraj’s case, controlling dandruff wasn’t “extra” - it was the foundation, because constant flakes and itching can set off more hair fall.

Second, his sleep wasn’t exactly “bad,” but it was inconsistent due to duty: “Raat mein nahi so pate… kabhi nind le lete hain, kabhi nahi le pate.” Even without emotional stress, that kind of irregular recovery time can show up on the scalp and hair health over months.

This is why the coach didn’t jump straight to hair regrowth promises. She focused on scalp control first, then hair fall control, then visible changes.

Q: Does dandruff trigger hair loss?

Yes - when dandruff becomes frequent and flaky, it can irritate the scalp and lead to more shedding. That’s why controlling dandruff and maintaining scalp health is often the first step before expecting visible regrowth.

The doubt he said out loud: “Itna time mil payega?”

Neeraj’s biggest hesitation wasn’t skepticism about ingredients. It was time.

“Madam, utna time mil payega mere ko lagane ke liye.”
His life involved constant movement, and mornings were tough: “Subah thoda dikkat hota hai.”

The coach met that doubt with something practical: Traya’s “two into two” mindset. Not an overwhelming ritual - just a few minutes in the morning and night, and a clear weekly rhythm.

That’s what turned confusion into commitment.

The personalized hair treatment plan he could actually follow

Neeraj’s kit wasn’t positioned as a random bundle. It was explained like a routine built around his dandruff and dry scalp first.

He was guided to use:

He was guided to use the Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%) like a normal shampoo, 2–3 days a week, to reduce dandruff and maintain scalp health.

Then came the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2% w/v), applied 3 nights a week, spread all over the scalp and left overnight - no massage. Neeraj initially said his dandruff wasn’t “that heavy,” but the coach explained that if flakes are flying during combing and showing on clothes, it needs consistent control.

For oiling, he received the Scalp Oil with a booster shot to be mixed into the bottle in one go. After mixing, he was asked to apply it twice a week, at least 30 minutes before a wash.

Internally, his kit included:
Hair Ras (an 8-month course), positioned as daily natural hair nourishment that balances pitta dosha, supports circulation to follicles, and nourishes the system from within; Hair Vitamin (a 3-month course) to support nutritional gaps and provide natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract along with biotin and other vitamins/minerals; and Gutt Shuddhi (a 3-month course) for gut detox and motility support - because poor gut function can affect nutrient absorption, and there’s a real digestion and hair fall connection in many hair-loss journeys.

He also received Nasal Grit for 21 days - 3 drops in each nostril before bed - especially relevant because his routine often disrupted sleep, and this medicated ghee-based nasal drop is designed to support calm and restful sleep (when there is no cold, cough, flu, asthma, or sinus concerns - which he confirmed he didn’t have).

The coach also clarified how to take these tablets: after meals, daily. And if a morning dose is missed, it can be taken after lunch.

The timeline that made it feel realistic, not magical

Neeraj was told upfront that this isn’t an overnight fix.

The coach mapped it like this: the first 1–3 months focus on internal health and dandruff control; months 4–6 are when hair fall control and scalp improvements become more noticeable; and from month 8 onwards, visible changes like regrowth and thickness are expected in areas with thin, small hair.

For someone who had been dealing with hair fall since 2019, this timeline did something important: it replaced panic with a plan.

Resolution: from “samajh mein nahi aa raha” to “note kar rahe hain”

By the end of the call, Neeraj sounded different - not because he had results already, but because he finally had clarity.

He repeated the routine back, confirmed the days, clarified oil versus shampoo frequency, asked about combining an outside tablet with a gap, and ended with: “Jaisa maine pucha… waise waise aapne bataya.”

That’s what a real start looks like. Not perfection. Not instant regrowth. Just a routine he can follow - and a coach who stays on the line until it makes sense.
