Neeraj’s Dandruff-First Plan to Save His Hairline

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Main concern: Neeraj noticed heavy dandruff that “sticks to the scalp” and a slowly receding hairline over the last 1–1.5 years.
  • What was driving it: Persistent dandruff and scalp hygiene concerns, along with moderate stress and occasional gas/acidity (especially after eating outside).
  • What he used: An anti-dandruff shampoo + anti-dandruff night lotion, Traya Scalp Oil mixed with a dandruff oil shot, and a daily hair supplement (tablets).
  • Timeline he was guided for: First 1–2 months focused on dandruff; months 3–4 aimed at reduced hair fall and better scalp health; visible changes typically start from month 5 onward with consistency.
  • Outcome he was working toward: A cleaner scalp first, then better hair quality, thickness, and volume - without feeling lost about what to use, when.

“Pehle dandruff theek hoga… phir hair growth?”

Neeraj, a working professional from Indore, didn’t start his Traya journey with a dramatic “hair clumps in the shower” moment. His worry was quieter - and that’s what made it stick.

For nearly a year and a half, he’d been noticing a change in the mirror: “Hair fall nahin hai… bas hairline pichhe ho rahi hai.” Along with that came something harder to ignore - heavy dandruff that stayed on the scalp. The kind that doesn’t just dust off your shoulders; it sits there, stubborn, and makes your scalp feel perpetually “not clean.”

So when he finally booked a call, his first question wasn’t about ingredients or routines. It was about the order of things.

He asked, plainly, almost suspiciously: “Abhi aapne mujhe dandruff treatment ke liye bheja hai ek mahine ke liye… uske baad hair growth wala bhejoge?”

He wanted to know if this was going to be a real plan - or just another set of products.

What Neeraj was really dealing with

During the call, his Traya hair coach rechecked the basics from his hair test: heavy dandruff, moderate stress, low-ish energy levels “kabhi-kabhi,” and gas/acidity that showed up mostly when he ate outside.

And then came a key point that many people miss: if the scalp is constantly irritated, itchy, or coated with dandruff, focusing only on “growth” is like painting a wall without fixing the dampness underneath.

That’s why Neeraj’s plan began with tackling dandruff and dry scalp hair loss risk first - because persistent dandruff can trigger itching and inflammation, and that can worsen hair fall over time.

On top of that, his routine and food habits added small, recurring stressors. He mentioned gas/acidity happens “jab main bahar ka khata hun,” and the coach nudged him toward Traya’s in-app diet plan and simple habits like a short walk after dinner. It was a gentle way of addressing the digestion and hair fall connection without making him feel like everything was his fault.

A quick truth that made the plan click

Neeraj also had moderate stress on his test. The coach suggested meditation to help the mind relax - because stress is one of those factors that doesn’t just stay in the head; it can show up in the scalp, the sleep cycle, and the overall consistency with self-care.

Q: Does dandruff really cause hair fall?

Yes - when dandruff leads to constant itching and scalp irritation, it can weaken scalp health over time. That’s why Traya often prioritizes clearing dandruff first, so the scalp becomes a healthier base for hair growth-focused treatment later.

The vulnerable moment: confusion about “what goes when”

Once Neeraj received his kit, he still sounded unsure. Mid-call, he tried to confirm what he thought he heard: “Jo lotion aur hair oil… woh dandruff oil hai na?”

It’s a common moment - when you have multiple bottles, similar-sounding products, and a life that’s already busy.

Instead of overwhelming him, the coach slowed down and explained the routine in a way Neeraj could repeat back. That repeat-back became his turning point: he finally felt in control of the process.

The turning point: a routine that felt doable

Neeraj’s kit was designed around what he reported: heavy dandruff, early hairline recession, and the need for consistent care.

His coach explained that the kit had four parts: a Scalp Oil with a dandruff oil shot (to mix into it), an Anti-dandruff Night Lotion, an Anti-dandruff Shampoo, and hair supplement tablets for daily nutrition support.

Here’s what Neeraj was guided to follow, in simple terms:
He would use the anti-dandruff lotion at night three times a week, leave it overnight, and wash his hair the next morning. The scalp oil (mixed with the dandruff oil shot) was to be used only twice a week, kept for at least 30 minutes, then washed off using the anti-dandruff shampoo.

The coach also clarified an important sequencing detail: don’t apply oil immediately after the lotion at night. Leave that gap, and use oil the next morning if it’s an oil day.

And for the daily part, Neeraj double-checked: “Tablet… two times two tablets daily, right?” The coach confirmed: two tablets after breakfast, and two after a meal later in the day - always after food, not on an empty stomach.

This wasn’t just a routine. It was a personalized hair treatment plan that matched his scalp condition and made the timeline feel realistic.

Why these products made sense for his scalp

Neeraj’s coach focused on dandruff control first using Traya’s medicated anti-dandruff shampoo with Ketoconazole 2%, which is meant to reduce dandruff and prevent further fungal growth, while soothing the scalp. Along with that, the anti-dandruff night lotion also uses Ketoconazole 2% w/v, designed for stubborn, heavy dandruff that sticks to the scalp.

To support scalp nourishment and follicle stimulation alongside dandruff care, he was guided to use Traya’s Scalp Oil (a medicated oil made with a sneh pak process, containing ingredients like coconut oil, amalaki, bhringraj, and brahmi). The “dandruff oil shot” was positioned as a booster to mix into the scalp oil for his current root concern.

And because he also had low energy at times and wasn’t on any vitamins earlier, the daily hair supplement was positioned as internal support - something he could stay consistent with while the topical routine did its job.

The timeline that set expectations (and reduced anxiety)

Neeraj’s coach laid out a simple arc:
in the first 1–2 months, expect dandruff work; by months 3–4, hair fall and scalp health begin improving; and from month 5 onward, visible changes like better hair quality, thickness, and volume are more likely to show up - especially if he stayed regular.

She emphasized one thing repeatedly: consistency.

Because for Neeraj, the biggest risk wasn’t “wrong product.” It was stopping early, right when the scalp was finally getting healthier.

Resolution: from “bas confirm karna tha” to “main repeat kar deta hun”

By the end of the call, Neeraj sounded different - calmer, clearer, and even a little proud that he could summarize the routine himself:

“Lotion week mein three times, shampoo week mein three times… scalp oil two times.”

That’s the quiet win many hair journeys begin with: not immediate regrowth, but the relief of finally knowing what to do next - and why it’s being done in that order.
