Neeraj’s 5-Year Hair Fall Journey With Oily Dandruff

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Main concern: 5 years of hair fall with a receding hairline, plus persistent oily dandruff with itching and irritation
  • What was driving it: Genetics, and a scalp environment aggravated by greasy dandruff and frequent deep shaving for relief
  • What he used: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%), Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%), Scalp Oil + Calm Therapy booster, plus internal support with Hair Ras, Health Tatva, Gutt Shuddhi, and Hair Vitamin
  • Timeline he was guided on: Months 1–3 for internal health + dandruff control; months 4–6 for follicular/root improvement; months 7–8 for visible density changes, with hairline focus on maintenance
  • Outcome he was aiming for: “Hair regrowth if possible… otherwise bare minimum hair fall should stop,” backed by consistent tracking every 15 days for doctor monitoring

The day he decided to stop guessing

Neeraj had already been living with hair fall for five years. What made it harder wasn’t only the receding hairline - it was the scalp that never felt calm. He described it plainly: “Mere ko ekdam oily dandruff rehta hai… uski wajah se irritation aur itching rehta hai. Hamesha.”

And to get some relief, he’d resort to something many people do out of frustration: deep head shaving every two to three months - just to feel like the grease and flakes were “finally gone.” But when his Traya kit arrived, he didn’t want to do what he’d done before - start and stop randomly. He called in for one reason: “Mere ko jaan’na tha ki isko use kaise karna hai.”

That line carried a quiet seriousness. He didn’t want motivation. He wanted clarity.

Five years of hair fall, one short minoxidil attempt, and a lot of doubt

When the Traya hair coach checked Neeraj’s history, the pattern was familiar: long-term hair fall, a clear genetic component (“Genetics hai hair fall”), and a brief earlier trial of minoxidil - only two months.

But the bigger daily battle was his scalp. The dandruff wasn’t dry and dusty; it was greasy, sticky, and itchy. Neeraj even clarified he didn’t have dermatitis - just constant greasy buildup that made him uncomfortable enough to shave his head.

Then came the emotional turning point: Neeraj’s expectations were blunt because he’d seen too much online noise. He mentioned reading reviews and feeling unsure if it was real or “chatbots.” Still, he chose to try - because he wanted his hairline to at least not move further back. “Maintain ho jaaye,” he said. “But dekhte kya hota hai.”

What was really happening on his scalp

Neeraj’s story had two parallel tracks.

One was genetic hair fall - something that often needs long-term consistency and follicle support.

The other was the scalp environment: oily dandruff, itching, and irritation that kept pushing him into aggressive coping (deep shaving). Dandruff, when it becomes chronic and itchy, can trigger a cycle - itching leads to scratching, scalp barrier gets disturbed, and the overall scalp health suffers. In Neeraj’s case, it wasn’t just flakes; it was discomfort that kept coming back, making it feel never-ending.

This is where dandruff and dry scalp hair loss conversations often get misunderstood - because even when the dandruff is oily (not dry), the inflammation and irritation can still contribute to hair shedding and breakage.

Q: Does dandruff trigger hair fall?

Yes, dandruff can indirectly worsen hair fall - especially when it causes constant itching and irritation. Scratching and inflammation can disturb scalp health, making it harder for hair to stay anchored and grow comfortably.

The question he kept coming back to: “Reduce hoga… ya hota rahega?”

Neeraj didn’t need pep talk. He needed certainty about what “control” really means.

When the coach explained that dandruff and hair fall can be chronic and are often managed rather than “permanently erased,” Neeraj immediately asked the question most people are afraid to ask out loud: “Kaafi reduce hoga ki… hota hi rahega?”

That vulnerability mattered. Because he wasn’t only buying products - he was buying time, effort, and hope. He said it clearly later: “First month hai… main positive rehna chahta hoon, aur mujhe result bhi chahiye.”

The turning point: a plan that felt doable, not overwhelming

Neeraj’s coach didn’t just list items. He gave him a timeline and a rhythm.

He explained what Neeraj could realistically expect:

  • Months 1–3: work on internal health and nutrition, and bring dandruff under control
  • Months 4–6: improve follicular health and strengthen roots so hair fall reduces
  • Months 7–8: visible changes like improved density/volume, especially around the crown; hairline focus more on maintenance (with the honest note that hairline regrowth is harder and not promised)

Just as importantly, the coach made consistency measurable: Neeraj would upload scalp photos every 15 days so doctors could track progress. That transformed this from “try and pray” into a personalized hair treatment plan with accountability.

The kit Neeraj was told to follow - and why each part mattered

Neeraj’s routine had two goals: calm the scalp (because itching was constant), and support hair from within (because the hair fall had been going on for years).

For dandruff control, he was guided to use:

  • Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%) three nights a week, applied gently without rubbing. This is designed to reduce dandruff by targeting the fungal component (Malassezia), which is a known trigger for dandruff, itching, and inflammation.
  • Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%) two to three times a week, especially washing the next day after the lotion application, to help clear scalp buildup and keep dandruff controlled.

For scalp nourishment and stress support, he was told to:

  • Mix Calm Therapy (booster oil) into the Scalp Oil, then apply it twice a week, 30 minutes before shampoo. Scalp Oil works through Ayurvedic shiroabhyanga-inspired nourishment - supporting scalp health and stimulating follicles through improved circulation, while Calm Therapy is positioned for high stress and sleep support.

For internal support (the “inside-out” part), he was instructed:

  • Gutt Shuddhi: one tablet after dinner daily, to support gut detox, motility, and relief from mild constipation - because gut health affects nutrient absorption and overall wellness (a real digestion and hair fall connection many people ignore).
  • Health Tatva: one tablet after breakfast and one after dinner, to support metabolism, digestion, and absorption - helping nutrients reach hair follicles better.
  • Hair Ras: two tablets after breakfast and two after dinner daily, formulated to balance pitta, support circulation to follicles, and nourish asthi dhatu - positioned like “Chyawanprash for hair.”
  • Hair Vitamin: one tablet after breakfast daily, supporting nutritional gaps with vitamins/minerals and natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract, along with ingredients such as bhringraj.

Neeraj wasn’t told to do everything perfectly overnight. He was told: give Traya two minutes in the morning and two minutes at night - then keep showing up.

Resolution: the commitment he made (and the one thing that changed)

Neeraj’s call didn’t end with dramatic before-after photos. It ended with something more realistic: commitment.

He had his doubts about online promises. He was concerned about refund eligibility and whether “thoda change” would disqualify him. He also worried about getting busy and missing updates. But once the routine was clear, his tone shifted: “Maine likh liya… aur main usko follow karunga.”

That’s the real beginning of a transformation - when someone stops experimenting and starts following a system.

And for Neeraj, the system was not only products. It was tracking, coaching follow-ups, diet support, hydration guidance (2–2.5 liters), and lifestyle nudges like adding a short daily walk - because for chronic hair fall, consistency is the differentiator.
