Traya Journey at a Glance
- Primary concern: 4–6 years of gradual hair thinning with heavy dandruff and visible scalp in the mid-part.
- Root causes identified: stubborn dandruff plus nutritional deficiencies weakening the follicles.
- Core products used: Anti Dandruff Night Lotion, Anti Dandruff Shampoo, Scalp Oil with Dandruff Oil Shot, Hair Ras, and Hair Vitamin.
- Recovery timeline: first 3 months to control dandruff, then 4–12 months focused on reducing hair fall, strengthening roots, and supporting regrowth.
- Transformation: from “bal to bich mein se udh gaye hain” to a clear plan, realistic expectations, and a coach walking him through every step.
When Dandruff Turns Into Hair Loss
“It started slowly… char‑paanch saal, chhe saal mein dhire dhire,” he said.
Let’s call him Manoj, a 42‑year‑old shop owner from a small town in Uttar Pradesh. For years, he brushed off his scalp issues as “just dandruff.” A bit of itch here, some white flakes on the shoulders there. Nothing serious. Until one day he noticed in a photo that the hair in the middle of his scalp looked thin, and the white patches looked thicker than his hair.
“Rusi dandruff hai na, bahut chikne chikne ekdam safed safed zyada ho gaye,” he told the Traya coach. The flakes weren’t dry and powdery anymore; they had become sticky, patchy, and stubborn. And along with that, the hair in the centre as well as the front hairline had started to disappear.
“Bal to bich mein se udh gaye hain, aage bhi udna shuru ho gaya,” he admitted. For someone who’d never taken hair very seriously, this was the first time it felt like a piece of his identity was slipping away. “Life mein kya hai ki agar baal hi na ho, to ek umra tak sab kuch lagata bekaar… vo atman hoti hai,” he said quietly. For him, hair was tied to self‑respect.
What Was Really Behind His Hair Fall
On the call, the Traya coach had already gone through Manoj’s hair test and scalp photos. The picture was clear: thick, sticky dandruff all over the scalp, visible scalp along the mid‑parting, and a receding hairline.
The coach explained that this wasn’t just cosmetic dandruff. When dandruff becomes sticky and sits like a layer on the scalp, it traps oil, sweat, and dead skin. This irritates the skin, causes micro‑inflammation around the follicles, and over time weakens their grip. That’s when dandruff and dry scalp hair loss stop being two separate issues and start feeding into each other.
On top of this, Manoj’s hair test suggested nutritional gaps. He hadn’t been on any long‑term supplements before; just a short homeopathic trial for two - three months, which he stopped when he got tired of “kitne din tak dawai khayenge?”
So his hair fall wasn’t coming from one single cause. It was a slow storm building from years of neglected dandruff plus not giving the follicles the nutrients they needed to stay strong.
Can dandruff alone really cause hair fall?
The coach broke it down in simple language for Manoj. Dandruff itself doesn’t cut the hair off, but the constant itching, scratching, and inflammation around the roots loosen the follicles over time. Add a thick layer of build‑up that blocks oxygen and nutrients from reaching the roots, and the follicles become weaker, thinner, and more likely to shed before their time. That’s exactly what he was seeing in the mirror.
His Doubts: Oil, Water, Winter and “Kitni Der Khana Padega?”
Manoj’s questions were simple, but they revealed his worries.
First was oil. “Ye tel jo hota hai… koi bhi tel laga sakte hain na? Normally hum ek hi tel use karte hain, amla ka tel,” he asked. With his hair feeling rough after a wash, his instinct was to put on oil to soften it.
The coach had to gently stop him there. Until the dandruff came under control, using random oils would only add another sticky layer on top of an already congested scalp. So the instruction was clear: no other oil for now, only Traya’s prescribed Scalp Oil plus dandruff oil shot, used in a specific way.
Next was water. Winter had set in, and Manoj was bathing with hot water. “Usse koi dikkat hai?” he checked. The coach reassured him: lukewarm water was fine, just avoid very hot water that could further dry and irritate the scalp.
And then came the classic worry: “Ek mahina use kar rahe hain… ye fir ek hi mahine ki dawa hai na? Kitne mahine tak?” He’d already once walked away from homeopathy because the timeline felt endless. The coach didn’t sugarcoat it. This wasn’t a one‑month fix; it was a 12‑month journey with clear milestones, and then long‑term maintenance.
How the Coach Built a Personalized Path for Him
Instead of handing over a box and a generic leaflet, the coach walked Manoj through each product like a guide showing him a map.
First, the root cause work: dandruff control and nutrition.
For dandruff, his kit included Anti Dandruff Night Lotion and Anti Dandruff Shampoo. The lotion, powered by ketoconazole, is meant for stubborn fungal dandruff. The coach told him to use it three times a week at night, apply it across the whole scalp, spread it gently without massage, and leave it overnight to work.
In the morning, he would apply the Scalp Oil which already had the Dandruff Therapy oil shot mixed in. This isn’t a random hair oil; it’s a medicated coconut‑based oil with herbs like amla and bhringraj plus a customised booster designed to support scalp health and stimulate follicles. Twice a week, he had to keep this on for at least thirty minutes before washing it off with the Anti Dandruff Shampoo.
Then came the inside‑out support. The coach explained that his kit contained two supplements: Hair Ras and Hair Vitamin. Hair Ras, a 100% Ayurvedic formulation with herbs like amalaki, bhringraj, shatavari, and ashwagandha, works on balancing pitta, nourishing the nervous system and asthi dhatu, and improving blood flow to hair follicles. Hair Vitamin adds essential vitamins, minerals, and natural DHT blockers like pumpkin seed extract and bhringraj to cover nutritional gaps. Together, they target the digestion and hair fall connection by improving absorption and tissue nourishment, which Manoj’s hair had been missing for years.
The routine was laid out in simple steps: Hair Ras two tablets after breakfast and two after dinner, Hair Vitamin one tablet in the morning. Always after food for better absorption.
Setting Realistic Expectations and Boundaries
What truly shifted Manoj’s mindset was when the coach set clear expectations instead of promising miracles.
The first three months: focus purely on getting dandruff under control and calming the scalp. From four to six months: he should start seeing visible reduction in hair fall. Between seven and nine months: roots become healthier and hair feels stronger. From ten to twelve months: regrowth in areas where the scalp is just starting to show, with better density and thickness.
At the same time, the coach was honest about limitations. “Age ki hairline pe regrowth aana bahut difficult hota hai… humne sirf 30% cases me dekha hai,” he shared. The promise here was to maintain the hairline where it currently was and stop it from moving further back, not to magically reverse every grey or fill every receded corner.
On premature greying, which Manoj also mentioned (“bahut kaafi pak gaye hain”), the coach clarified that existing white hair cannot be reversed scientifically. The Hair Ras supplement, however, could help delay further greying by nourishing the system and balancing pitta.
From Confusion to Commitment
By the end of the call, Manoj’s tone had changed. “Ekdam clear hai, sir,” he repeated more than once. He knew exactly why he had to avoid other oils for now, why lukewarm water was fine, how to stagger lotion, oil, and shampoo through the week, and how his supplements were helping his hair fall due to anemia‑like nutritional gaps even though he didn’t carry a formal anaemia diagnosis.
The coach also showed him how to use the app: where to find his personalised diet plan, how to log product usage daily through “Log and Earn” to stay consistent and get discounts on future kits, and how to book call‑backs whenever a doubt popped up. A follow‑up call with a hair coach was scheduled 12–15 days later just to check how he was settling into the routine.
Most importantly, Manoj didn’t feel alone in the process anymore. “Maintain to karna hi padega na,” he had said at the start, almost as a resigned line. By the end, it sounded more like a decision he was choosing for himself, backed by a personalized hair treatment plan, not guesswork.
