A Groom-to-Be’s Plan for Dandruff and a Receding Hairline

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Problem: Front hairline (left-right) was slowly receding, and winter-time heavy dandruff kept coming back.
  • Likely root causes: Dandruff-driven scalp irritation plus nutrition and lifestyle factors affecting scalp and follicle health.
  • What he used: Anti-dandruff night lotion, Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%), Scalp Oil, and Hair Ras supplements.
  • Timeline shared on call: About 5–8 months, with early focus on scalp/internal health and later focus on growth and thickness.
  • Outcome: A clear, structured plan and realistic expectations - especially around maintaining the hairline and improving scalp health with consistency.

The moment he said it out loud

“I don’t really have hair fall,” Neeraj told the Traya coach. “It’s just that my front hairline… left and right side… it’s getting lighter and going back.”

It’s a strangely specific worry - one that doesn’t always show up as hair on the pillow or in the shower drain. For Neeraj, a fitness-focused guy who goes to the gym regularly and even takes whey protein, the issue wasn’t shedding. It was the slow, creeping change in the mirror.

And there was another thing that bothered him even more: heavy dandruff.

He’d already seen a doctor once. The dandruff reduced for a while, then returned - especially in winters. That seasonal pattern made him question if it was “just a change of season,” but the stubbornness of it told a different story.

What was really going on: a scalp that couldn’t catch a break

When the coach reviewed Neeraj’s hair test details on call, two things stood out: he didn’t struggle with constipation, but he did have heavy dandruff - and he had early recession at the front hairline.

That combination matters because dandruff isn’t just “flakes.” When it persists, it can trigger itching, inflammation, and a scalp environment that isn’t supportive of healthy hair. This is where dandruff and dry scalp hair loss becomes a real concern for many people: the constant irritation can weaken the foundation hair needs to thrive.

The coach also flagged nutrition and lifestyle as contributing factors. In simple terms, even if you’re doing many things “right” (like working out), your hairline and scalp can still react when the body’s internal balance and scalp hygiene are off.

Q: Does dandruff actually cause hair loss?

Dandruff can lead to itching, irritation, and inflammation on the scalp. When the scalp is repeatedly disturbed, hair can become weaker and more prone to fall, and overall scalp health can decline - making it harder for hair to stay strong over time.

The question behind the question: “Should I just do PRP?”

Neeraj didn’t just ask about results. He asked for honesty.

He said he was getting married in a year and wanted faster, more certain changes. Then he asked the question many people think but hesitate to say: “Give me genuine advice… do Traya products have a genuine effect? If PRP or transplant is more beneficial, I’ll do that.”

You could hear the pressure in that line. A wedding timeline can turn a slow-burning concern into a daily anxiety.

He was also wary of getting pushed into procedures. “Doctors will recommend it… they need to make money,” he said, asking the coach to speak from knowledge, not sales.

The turning point: clarity, routine, and a realistic timeline

Instead of promising instant hairline regrowth, the coach did something more useful: she set expectations and gave Neeraj a plan he could actually follow.

She mapped his timeline as 5–8 months:

  • In the first 2–3 months, the focus would be internal health and dandruff.
  • In months 4–6, the focus would be on hair fall control and follicular health.
  • In months 7–8, the focus would shift to growth, thickness, and density - with visible changes expected from around month eight.

She also gave a reality check that built trust: hairline regrowth is difficult, and the goal is often to maintain the hairline and prevent further recession, while improving overall scalp and hair quality.

That’s what a personalized hair treatment plan looks like in real life: not a miracle claim, but a sequence - scalp first, then follicles, then visible density.

The kit, explained like a daily routine (not a science lecture)

Neeraj had already opened the kit and started using it, but he still had practical doubts - exactly the kind that decide whether someone stays consistent or drops off.

Fighting dandruff at the root

For Neeraj’s heavy dandruff, the routine included two key products:

The Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%) was to be applied at night before sleep, left overnight, and washed off in the morning. The Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%) was to be used about 2–3 times a week, to control dandruff by reducing fungal overgrowth and calming scalp inflammation.

This wasn’t positioned as “hair growth in a bottle.” It was positioned as restoring scalp conditions so hair can grow without constant disruption.

The oil confusion he voiced (and many people relate to)

Neeraj asked, “Oil only on the hairline or the whole scalp?”

The coach clarified: oil should be applied to the whole scalp, like regular oiling, about 30 minutes before washing, twice a week. She also advised him to pause other oils he was using (like amla or almond oil) for the time being, so the routine stays consistent and focused.

The Scalp Oil is designed to maintain scalp health and stimulate hair follicles through scalp massage (Shiroabhyanga) and nourishment to follicles - supporting circulation and hydration at the roots.

The internal support: Hair Ras

Neeraj was also asked to take Hair Ras: two supplements in the morning and two at night, after meals. Hair Ras is positioned for daily natural hair nourishment, supporting hair quality by working from within - helping balance pitta and supporting nourishment and circulation to hair follicles.

And because Neeraj goes to the gym, he asked one more straightforward question: “I take whey protein - any side effects with these products?” The coach reassured him there’s no issue.

Resolution: not rushed - just finally structured

By the end of the call, the biggest shift wasn’t in Neeraj’s hairline (that takes time). It was in his mindset.

He started the call with, “How long will it take? Will there be results?” and the pressure of wanting quick fixes before marriage. He ended it with clarity: what to apply, when to apply it, what to take internally, and why consistency matters.

For someone who was considering PRP or a transplant because he “wanted fast results,” that structure can be the difference between panic-buying solutions and actually sticking to a plan long enough to see change.
