Farhan’s Hair Fall Story: Dandruff First, Growth Next

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • Main concern: “Main haath lagata hoon baalon mein toh baal neeche aate hain” - hair fall that felt constant, plus thinning and hairline worry.
  • Root causes discussed: Heavy, sticky dandruff; possible genetic trigger (family history mentioned); lifestyle and nutrition gaps; plus a water-change story linked to when it began.
  • What he started with: Anti-dandruff shampoo + anti-dandruff night solution, plus Scalp Oil mixed with Dandruff Therapy booster oil; Hair Ras and Hair Vitamin as daily supplements.
  • Timeline set with coach: First 3 months focus on dandruff + internal health; 4–6 months hair fall reduction; 7–8 months visible quality/density changes.
  • Outcome/goal: Control dandruff first, then shift to growth support (minoxidil planned after dandruff is under control) to improve density and maintain hairline.

“Bas haath lagaya aur baal girne lage…”

Farhan, a young working professional, didn’t describe a dramatic moment in front of a mirror. His moment was smaller - and more unsettling.

Is time condition ye hai… main haath lagata hoon baalon mein toh mere baal neeche aate hain. Bilkul.

It’s the kind of hair fall that makes you hyper-aware of your own hands. You touch your hair once, then you stop touching it altogether.

When Traya’s hair coach called to explain his kit, Farhan was literally in the middle of life - driving, trying to reschedule, then pulling over because, as he put it, “Baad mein phir reh jaati hai baat.” He didn’t want to delay the conversation. He wanted answers now.

When it started: a place change, a water change, and a slow build-up

Before college, Farhan said his hair was “bilkul theek.” Then came a shift to a new location for college - and a pattern he noticed in almost everyone around him.

He recalled that in that area, “95 logon ke baalon ko dikkat aayi… kisi ke baal safed ho gaye…” and for him, the trigger felt linked to the local water: “Wahan ke location ka pani suit nahi karta tha…

That was about six to seven years ago. But the real acceleration - the part that made him seek structured help - came later. Over the last one to two years, he felt the visibility increasing. Hair fall wasn’t just happening. It was showing.

He had tried homeopathy earlier, mainly for what he described as a “white layer” on the scalp that had improved “60–70%.” But then a break in routine, some stress, and stopping medicine for a few months coincided with his hair fall getting worse again.

The root causes his coach connected: dandruff first, then growth

Farhan’s coach didn’t frame it as “one reason.” She mapped it like a layered problem.

First: heavy, sticky dandruff, which Farhan confirmed. She explained that dandruff tends to be chronic and the first step is getting it under control - because a scalp that’s irritated, itchy, and clogged can keep triggering shedding.

Second: a genetic trigger, which Farhan questioned right away: “Genetic toh nahi hai hamare mein.” He felt that because most family members had good hair, it couldn’t be genetic. The coach’s stance was that genetics can still be present even if it’s not uniform across everyone, and lifestyle stress can trigger it.

Third: nutrition and routine, which is why she pushed him to download the app and follow a customized plan - what Traya calls a personalized hair treatment plan, built around nutrition, Ayurveda, and dermatology.

To Farhan, the logic was reassuring because it was actionable: treat dandruff, fix the base, then push for regrowth.

Q: Does dandruff trigger hair loss?

Yes - when dandruff leads to itching, flaking, and scalp inflammation, frequent scratching and poor scalp health can increase shedding. That’s why controlling dandruff and scalp build-up is often the first step in reducing dandruff and dry scalp hair loss.

The question behind his question: “Jahan roots chale gaye… wahan bhi aayenge?”

Mid-call, Farhan asked the most human question in hair loss - the one that carries equal parts hope and fear:

Jahan se roots nikal gaye… jahan completely skin ki tarah ho chuka hai… wahan baal aa jaayenge?

The coach responded carefully. Where the scalp is completely skin-like, the focus is usually on maintenance - stopping further loss. Where thin, small hair is still present, growth is more possible.

It wasn’t a miracle promise. It was a realistic plan. And for someone who’d watched his hairline and density change over time, realism mattered.

What made daily life harder: dust, dandruff, and the fear of doing it wrong

Farhan’s challenges weren’t only biological. They were practical.

His work environment was dusty, and he knew his scalp got dirty quickly. He worried whether applying the anti-dandruff solution on a not-perfectly-clean scalp would reduce effectiveness. His coach clarified: apply on a clean, dry scalp when possible, and if the hair feels dirty, wash first, then apply.

He also had a different kind of anxiety: confusion about the kit. Which bottle is what? What does Level 1 and Level 2 mean? Should he stop his regular shampoo? Can he use cotton to apply? Can he use mustard oil at home?

Those questions may sound small, but they’re often why people quit. Farhan even admitted, “Mere ko confusion ho raha hai… mainne khol ke dekhi nahi.

The turning point: a simple routine he could repeat

The coach turned the entire kit into a tight, repeatable schedule - no overthinking.

She explained that the initial focus is dandruff control and scalp hygiene, and Farhan repeated it back to confirm he understood:

He’d use the anti-dandruff night solution three times a week at night, applied as a thick layer with gentle tapping (no rubbing), and wash it off in the morning using the Anti-dandruff Shampoo (Ketoconazole 2%), also three times a week.

On oiling days, he’d use Traya’s Scalp Oil (a medicated oil with coconut oil and Ayurvedic herbs like amla, bhringraj, and brahmi, made using the sneh pak process) mixed with the Dandruff Therapy booster oil in one go. This oiling would be kept for about 30 minutes before a wash. He was told clearly to avoid other oils like mustard oil, and stick to what’s in the kit.

Alongside this, his daily internal support was set:

  • Hair Ras after breakfast (2) and after dinner (2), positioned as daily Ayurvedic nourishment that supports scalp and hair health by balancing pitta and improving circulation to the follicles.
  • Hair Vitamin once after breakfast, to support nutritional gaps that can add to shedding and thinning.

And the coach set expectations: first three months are about dandruff + internal health; hair fall control follows; visible hair quality comes later. That timeline gave him something he could hold on to - especially after years of “on and off” efforts.

The growth plan he didn’t receive yet: why minoxidil was staged later

Farhan noticed that minoxidil wasn’t in his current box and asked directly what it was.

His coach explained that minoxidil 5% (with finasteride 0.1% and procapil 3% in Traya’s formulation) is introduced after dandruff control, for growth and maintenance - because the scalp needs to be calmer and healthier before moving to the next step.

For Farhan, this sequence mattered. It made the journey feel guided, not random.

Resolution: not an overnight fix, but a plan that finally felt clear

By the end of the call, Farhan wasn’t magically “cured” - but he was grounded.

He had a routine he could recite back confidently. He had a reason why dandruff came first. He had clarity on what was realistic in areas that looked “skin-like,” and where growth could still be possible. And importantly, he had support: check-ins every 15 days, plus the ability to reach out on WhatsApp or book calls in-app.

His goal stayed simple and honest: “Hair fall band ho jaaye… density ban jaaye… hairline thik ho jaaye.
Traya’s job was to turn that wish into a process - steady enough to survive real life, dust, busy mornings, and all.
