Asha’s Itchy Scalp to Clearer Hair Plan

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • What she was dealing with: itchy, quickly oily scalp and ongoing hair fall - plus a bad experience with topical minoxidil that caused “red patches” and scalp pimples
  • What was really going on: dandruff tendency and scalp irritation, along with digestion issues, nutrition deficiency, and low iron flagged in her hair test
  • What she used: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion, Defence Shampoo + Defence Conditioner, Scalp Oil mixed with Dandruff Therapy oil shot, plus Iron Santulan and Hair Santulan
  • Expected timeline: first month focused on clearing dandruff and building a clean scalp base; hair fall reduction expected around month 4, with visible improvement from month 5 onwards
  • What changed: she finally had a structured, personalized hair treatment plan - and clarity on what to apply, when, and what “initial shedding” might mean

The moment Asha connected the dots

Asha, a working professional who often found herself juggling travel and long days out, didn’t start with a dramatic confession. She started with a practical problem: she’d been using minoxidil, but during “one or two months” of travel, she couldn’t keep up. And that’s when things spiraled.

“I started getting red patches… pimples in the scalp,” she said. The moment she stopped minoxidil, the flare-up settled. But the worry didn’t.

Because Asha had been here before. Back in 2019–20, she’d dealt with flaky scales that turned persistent - eventually diagnosed as seborrheic dermatitis. It had improved after she saw a skin specialist, but now the scalp signals were back in a different form: oiliness that returned fast, itching that could get intense “out of nowhere,” and hair wash days that felt like a trigger.

She was already taking a Vitamin D + biotin combination tablet, had checked her thyroid (normal), and was left with that frustrating in-between feeling: “Probably due to hormonal issue or something, I guess.”

When the hair test revealed it wasn’t “just hormones”

On her first consultation call, the Traya hair coach reviewed Asha’s hair test and put words to what Asha was sensing but couldn’t fully map.

Her root causes weren’t one-dimensional. They were layered: a dandruff tendency (and scalp irritation), digestion issues, nutrition deficiency, and low iron.

This matters because hair doesn’t respond only to what you apply on the scalp. If your scalp barrier is unstable - itchy, oily quickly, sensitive on wash days - hair can shed more easily. At the same time, when digestion is off and nutrition isn’t being absorbed well, the hair follicles often don’t get the steady nutrient supply they need. Add low iron on top, and it becomes harder for hair root cells to feel “supported” from within - something many people experience as hair fall due to anemia even before they connect the dots.

Asha’s coach explained that the plan needed to do two things together: calm and clear the scalp environment so it stays healthier, and strengthen internal nutrition support so the hair doesn’t keep losing the battle from within. It was a full-circle answer to what Asha had lived through: dandruff and dry scalp hair loss isn’t always just a “shampoo problem.”

Q: Can low iron actually worsen hair fall?

Yes. Low iron can be linked to hair fall because iron supports energy production in the body by helping oxygen reach cells, including hair root cells. When iron is low, follicles may feel under-supported, which can show up as increased shedding and weaker hair.

The question she kept returning to: “Kab kaun sa lena hai?”

Even after hearing the root causes, Asha’s biggest need was clarity.

“Okay, aur kab kaun sa lena hai, vo thoda bata?” she asked - wanting the routine in plain language.

And honestly, it made sense. She’d already had a confusing experience where stopping one product seemed to stop the redness and pimples. She didn’t want another routine that felt risky, complicated, or impossible to maintain during travel.

There was also a quieter doubt underneath: if she followed this plan, would it get worse before it got better?

Her coach addressed that too - especially around the idea of initial shedding once a hair growth serum is introduced later in the plan. Asha was reassured that if hair fall increases for a few weeks when the serum gets added, it can be a normal, positive sign that the treatment has started working on weaker strands, making room for stronger hair over time.

Building her routine around her real life (not an ideal one)

Asha described her scalp as combination: it could feel dry first, then get oily quickly - especially if she traveled, wore a helmet, or spent time outdoors. She needed to wash every two days, which meant any plan had to fit into a realistic week.

Her Traya kit was structured to support that.

The topical routine focused on scalp hygiene and dandruff control:
She was asked to use the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion on the scalp at night and keep it overnight (as directed by her coach for her scalp type and routine). Along with it, she was guided to mix the Dandruff Therapy oil shot into the main Scalp Oil bottle and apply it before shampoo, then wash with Defence Shampoo and follow with Defence Conditioner on hair lengths.

This wasn’t framed as a “one product miracle.” It was a system - designed to reduce the triggers that can make a scalp feel unpredictable.

The internal routine addressed the low-iron and nutrition side:
Her kit included Iron Santulan, meant for hair fall triggered due to iron deficiency, and Hair Santulan as oral support aligned to her root causes. And because digestion was part of her root-cause picture, it also connected back to the digestion and hair fall connection - if absorption is compromised, even a good diet can fall short.

A small hiccup that showed her what support really looks like

Near the end of the call, Asha noticed something important: she could see the oil shot bottle, but not the larger scalp oil bottle.

Instead of brushing it off, she said it clearly: “Oil shot ek chhota sa hai, bada vala nahin hai.”

The coach responded the way you want support to respond - by asking her to check the kit again, and offering to raise a ticket with the relevant team if it truly was missing. Asha was in office, so she promised to confirm by evening.

It was a small moment, but it mattered: this wasn’t going to be a “figure it out alone” journey.

The timeline that made her exhale

Asha’s coach mapped a realistic arc, not an overnight promise:
The first month would focus on clearing dandruff and getting the scalp clean so future steps could work better. Over the next months, a serum would be added to work on weaker strands, and by month 4, she could expect hair fall reduction. From month 5 onwards, she was told to look for visible shifts - better density, thickness, and more volume (even in something as simple as how her ponytail feels).

Asha summed up her readiness in one line: she’d start from tomorrow.

Resolution: not a “before-after,” but a new kind of confidence

Asha’s story doesn’t end with a dramatic reveal - because this call was the beginning. What changed in this moment was more foundational: she moved from guessing (“maybe hormonal”) to having a clear plan built around her actual scalp history, her travel reality, and her internal root causes.

And for anyone who has bounced between products, paused treatments mid-way, or worried that sensitivity means they’re out of options - Asha’s start is a reminder that the goal isn’t randomness. It’s structure, consistency, and a plan that can evolve with you.
