Asha’s Hair Fall & Dandruff Plan Before a Festival

Traya Journey at a Glance

  • The problem: Hair fall for the last 2–3 months, with heavy dandruff and a visible scalp.
  • The context: Menopause-related changes and a past history of thyroid medication (now stopped), along with stubborn scalp flaking.
  • What she used: Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%), Defence Shampoo, Defence Conditioner, Nourish Oil, Hair Vitamin, and Hair Santulan 03.
  • The timeline she was guided for: Month 1–3 focus on internal health and dandruff; month 4–6 hair fall reduction; around month 8 onward visible changes in thickness/regrowth.
  • The shift: From “Bas bata do, kaise use karna hai” to a clear, doable routine with follow-ups and app-based tracking.

“Kal festival hai… aur scalp dikh raha hai.”

Asha had a simple request when she called Traya: “Mainne product mangwaye the. Dusra aa gaya to mujhe use karna hai. Bata do.”

But within minutes, the call revealed what was really bothering her. Her hair had been falling for “do-tin mahine se,” her dandruff was “heavy,” and when the coach asked if her scalp was visible, Asha said, “Haan ji.” Then came the line that carried the urgency: “Kal festival ho raha hai.”

It wasn’t just hair fall. It was that uncomfortable feeling of being seen - of a widening scalp and flakes that don’t let you feel put-together, even on a festive day.

When hair fall shows up with dandruff

Asha hadn’t tried any earlier hair loss treatment. She also shared that she had been on thyroid medication earlier, but had stopped it, and that she was going through menopause (periods had stopped). On top of that, she was dealing with cervical discomfort, but had no BP, heart-related issues, sinus, or asthma concerns as per the call.

And the dandruff piece was big. When dandruff becomes “heavy,” it’s rarely just a cosmetic inconvenience. The scalp can feel irritated, the urge to scratch increases, and hair starts feeling weaker at the roots. Many people experience dandruff and dry scalp hair loss together - because the scalp environment becomes harder for healthy growth to thrive.

That’s why the coach framed the journey with patience: first control dandruff and support internal health, then track hair fall reduction, and only then expect visible regrowth.

Q: Does dandruff cause hair fall?

Yes - when dandruff becomes heavy, itching and scalp irritation can make hair fall worse. Clearing the dandruff and maintaining scalp health helps create the conditions needed for healthier growth.

The doubt behind her questions

Asha’s questions weren’t dramatic, but they were deeply relatable. She wanted two reassurances: clarity and results.

She asked for straightforward expectations: “Hair fall… mujhe growth chahiye ho jaye. Dandruff kam.” And later, while exploring the diet feature in the app, she asked in her own words, “Will my treatment result… I am unable to follow the diet?”

That moment mattered. Because it’s not just about owning a kit - it’s about believing you can follow it consistently, even when life is busy or confusing apps and options make you second-guess yourself.

The turning point: a plan that felt doable

Instead of overwhelming her, the coach did what a good guide does - slowed things down, verified details, and made the routine feel manageable. She also asked Asha to upload scalp images (since the prescription was pending), so the plan could be reviewed properly.

Then she mapped expectations clearly:
Asha was told the timeline is about eight months. In the first to third month, the focus would be on internal health and dandruff reduction. From month four to six, she could expect hair fall reduction. From around eight months onward, she could start seeing changes in thickness and regrowth.

Just hearing that sequence can reduce anxiety. It turns “Why isn’t this working yet?” into “Okay, I know what phase I’m in.”

This is what a personalized hair treatment plan is meant to do - give structure when everything feels uncertain.

What she was prescribed - and how it fit into her week

Asha’s kit routine was built around scalp care, cleansing, conditioning, and internal support.

For dandruff control, she was guided to use the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion (Ketoconazole 2%) three nights a week. It had to be applied across the scalp gently - “massage ya rub nahi karna” - left overnight, and washed the next morning.

To maintain scalp cleanliness without harsh cleansing, she was advised to use Defence Shampoo two to three times a week. And since hair can feel rough with frequent washing or medicated topicals, she was told to use the Defence Conditioner on hair lengths, leaving it for four to five minutes before rinsing.

For hair care and manageability, she had Nourish Oil twice a week, applied 30 minutes before washing. (This one is positioned as a hair-care product - helpful for shine, frizz, and breakage control, not as a standalone regrowth promise.)

For internal support, she had Hair Vitamin once daily after breakfast to help address nutritional gaps and support hair and skin health, and Hair Santulan 03 (two tablets daily after dinner) to support stress, metabolism, and bloating-related concerns - the kind that often sit in the background but show up in your hair over time.

Making the app feel less intimidating

Asha’s other struggle was the app itself - where to find the diet plan, what to click, whether she had to watch videos, and how “log and earn” worked.

The coach patiently explained that she didn’t need to watch videos, guided her to “build your plan,” and suggested refreshing the home page if the diet plan wasn’t showing yet. She also clarified tracking: whenever Asha used a product, she could log it and earn coins for discounts later.

Small thing, big impact - because consistency is easier when the system feels friendly.

Resolution: the confidence of knowing what to do next

Asha didn’t end the call with a miracle result - she ended it with something more realistic and more powerful: a clear routine, a timeline she could trust, and the reassurance that a coach would check in again in 10–12 days.

When hair fall is new (just 2–3 months), and the scalp is already visible, uncertainty can be louder than the problem itself. By the end of the call, Asha had her answers - what to apply, how often, what to expect first, and when to expect regrowth.

And sometimes, that’s the first real win: not guessing anymore.
