When “Just Dandruff” Turned Into Relentless Hair Fall: Arjun’s 8-Month Turnaround with Traya
From the outside, Arjun (32, Nashik) looked like he had no reason to worry about his hair. He wasn’t balding visibly, and only a slight recession at the front hairline bothered him. But for almost a year he had been quietly battling two problems that refused to go away: constant hair fall and stubborn, dry dandruff that never really left his scalp.
“I have hair fall from one year… come jyada, come jyada,” he told his Traya hair coach on the call, trying to explain how the shedding sometimes reduced but never stopped. He had already spent almost a year and a half on supplements, a “neurocont LC” tablet, herbal shampoo and oils from his local doctor. “Thoda bahut mila tha result… lekin band kiya to fir use chalu ho gaya.” A little improvement, and the moment he stopped, the hair fall picked up again.
He had reached a point where he wanted clarity more than anything else: What exactly is going wrong with his scalp? And would Traya’s plan finally be any different?
A Scalp That Wouldn’t Stay Clean
Arjun’s biggest visible complaint was dandruff. In his Traya hair test, he had marked “heavy dandruff”. On the call, his coach Aarti dug deeper:
“Dandruff apka dry rehta hai ya sticky rehta hai?”
Arjun didn’t hesitate:
“Dry rehta hai, mam, aur jab bhi wash karta hoon hair mein uske baad scale form hoti hai, white white… white, white scaling jo bolte hain na… vo formation ho jati hai.”
This wasn’t mild flaking. These were white scales that came back even after shampooing. On top of that, his scalp was constantly irritated:
“Scalp, itching bahut jyada hai, mam.”
For Arjun, it was easy to think of this as “just dandruff”. But what he didn’t know is that this dry, scaling, itchy scalp was silently attacking his hair roots every single day.
The Real Root Cause: Sleep, Metabolism and Heavy Dandruff Working Together
When Aarti checked his hair test and history, she could see that Arjun’s hair fall wasn’t from a single cause. Traya’s analysis pointed to three key root causes:
- Disturbed sleep and stress
- Metabolism issues
- Heavy, chronic dandruff with scalp itching and scaling
She explained it in simple language:
- Dandruff as a root cause, not a side issue
As Aarti put it:
> “Ye dandruff… starting se hair fall ka root cause ban jata hai. Pores block karta hai, scalp ko itch karata hai, jisse roots weak ho jate hain, hair fall increase ho jata hai. To dandruff control karna pahle mandatory rehta hai.”
- Sleep and stress disturbing the growth cycle
- Metabolism and nutrient utilisation
Together, these three made a perfect storm: irritated scalp from dandruff, weakened internal support from stress and sleep issues, and compromised follicle nutrition due to metabolism.
Q&A: Does dandruff really cause hair loss?
Yes. Persistent, untreated dandruff—especially when dry flakes become thick scales and itching is constant—can inflame the scalp, block follicles, and weaken hair roots. This doesn’t usually cause complete bald patches, but it absolutely increases shedding and can worsen pattern hair loss if not treated aggressively and early.
“Mujhe ek puchhna tha…” – Arjun’s Practical Doubts
Arjun wasn’t confused about his diagnosis; he was worried about day-to-day usage and whether he’d be able to follow it with a busy schedule.
Right at the start he asked about the nasal spray:
“Vo jo apne nasal spray diya hai… actually ghee hai, mam?”
When Aarti confirmed it was ghee-based and meant “sleep aur stress ke liye… achchhi neend ke liye”, he understood its purpose but still needed guidance on how to use everything together.
His bigger doubt was about oiling and washing:
- He had already oiled his hair and hadn’t washed it yet.
- He believed “din bhar oil to chahiye na” on the scalp.
He asked very practically:
“Mam, maine abhi kal oiling kiya hai, aur wash mujhe baad mein karna hai, to chalega na?”
“Din bhar kya lagana hai? Din bhar oil to chahiye na, mam, thoda bahut?”
Aarti clearly corrected him:
- Scalp oiling should be only 30 minutes, not overnight or all day.
- Oil must be washed off with the prescribed shampoo.
- Daily “champi” on the scalp with heavy dandruff actually worsens buildup and flakes.
“Sir, aapko jo oiling hai vo sirf 30 minute ke liye rakhna hai… uske baad wash karna hai.
Scalp pe oil nahi lagana hai poora din. Agar lagana hai to ek–do drop sirf length pe, scalp pe nahi.”
Addressing these doubts was crucial for Arjun. Earlier, he had used shampoos and oils for over a year, but without this kind of structured guidance—and the moment he stopped, hair fall returned. This time he wanted a plan he could understand and stick to.
The Emotional Side: Quiet Worry, High Stakes
Although Arjun didn’t say, “I’ve lost confidence,” his actions told the story:
- He had already tried a general doctor’s treatment for 12–18 months.
- He had invested in herbal shampoos and oils.
- He was ready to buy Traya for his wife too “agar mujhe result aaye”.
That last line reveals how much pressure he felt for this to finally work—not only for himself, but as a reference for his family. He was also clearly concerned about his receding hairline:
“Thode gaye hain, mam, jyada nahi gaye hain.”
For many men, this stage is the most emotionally charged: the hairline has just started moving back, and there’s a fear that if they don’t act now, they’ll cross into advanced thinning where regrowth becomes much harder.
Aarti didn’t overpromise. She told him:
- Hairline regrowth is difficult and happens only in around 30% of cases.
- But regular use can stop further recession and maintain the current hairline.
This honest framing helped restore trust—he was not sold a miracle, but a realistic, medically grounded plan.
How the Hair Coach Built His Personalized Treatment Plan
Traya’s approach combined scalp, internal health, and lifestyle in a stepwise, time-bound way.
1. Phase 1 (1–3 months): Dandruff & Scalp Reset
- Anti-Dandruff Night Lotion
- Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
- Scalp Oil + Dandruff Therapy Shot (from the kit)
Why this works: until the scalp is clean and calm, any regrowth serum risks irritation and poor absorption. This first phase is like preparing the soil before planting.
2. Phase 2 (4–6 months): Reducing Hair Fall & Strengthening Follicles
- Hair Ras (already in his kit)
- Health Tatva
- Nasal Ghrit
Together, these form a personalized hair treatment plan that handles his sleep, metabolism and scalp health in one coherent structure.
3. Phase 3 (7–8+ months): Regrowth & Hairline Maintenance
Once dandruff and inflammation are controlled, the coach planned to switch him to Minoxidil:
- Initially, an anti-dandruff night lotion.
- After the scalp clears: Minoxidil 5% (or alcohol-free Minoxidil 5% if sensitivity shows up).
- This focuses on:
Aarti gave him a realistic expectation:
- 1–3 months: dandruff control
- 4–6 months: noticeable reduction in hair fall, better follicle health
- 7–8 months onwards: visible changes—“new baby hair growth aana, balon ka thicker hona, full hair aana”
