“Tin mahine mein regrowth ho jayega na?”
That was the first thing Aarav, a 27-year-old from Indore, wanted to know.
He had just received his Traya kit, could see his scalp peeking through at the crown, and the question tumbled out before anything else: “Ma’am, jo baal jhad rahe hain, baal regrowth ho jaenge tin mahine?” He wasn’t looking for jargon; he just wanted to know if his hair would actually come back.
On the other end of the call, his Traya hair coach smiled and did what our coaches do best: acknowledge the fear first, then walk him through the plan.
Living with slow, silent hair loss
Aarav had been noticing hair fall for almost one and a half years. It wasn’t sudden or dramatic, but slowly his crown started to look thinner. When he sent his scalp images for the hair test, the widening at the center was clear.
He hadn’t tried any treatment before Traya. No hair loss medicines, no fancy serums. Just a lot of worrying and hoping it would stop on its own.
Along with hair fall, his hair test showed two other things he’d been ignoring: heavy dandruff and occasional gas - acidity when he ate outside. He also mentioned that his sleep was disturbed; he would wake up at least once in the night and didn’t feel like he slept deeply.
On paper it looked simple - dandruff, mild digestion issues, broken sleep. But for his hair, it was a perfect storm.
Root causes: more than “weak hair”
When the coach explained the root causes, she didn’t stop at “your hair is weak.” She broke it down into four clear pillars that were driving his hair fall: sleep cycle, metabolism, nutrition and dandruff.
Heavy dandruff was the most visible culprit. That flaky, itchy scalp was not just cosmetic. Constant build-up and scratching disturbs the scalp barrier, inflames hair follicles and leads to dandruff and dry scalp hair loss. The coach explained that until this was brought under control, the scalp wouldn’t be a healthy place for new hair to grow.
Then came his metabolism and digestion. Aarav shrugged off his gas and acidity as “kabhi kabhi,” but his coach connected the dots: when digestion is off, nutrients from food are not absorbed efficiently. Over months and years, hair follicles receive less of the vitamins, minerals and proteins they need. This is the digestion and hair fall connection most people never think about.
Sleep was the third pillar. Waking up in the middle of the night meant his body wasn’t getting enough deep, restorative sleep. That’s when the body repairs tissues, balances hormones and calms the nervous system. Chronic disturbed sleep keeps stress pathways active, which can shorten the hair growth phase and trigger more shedding.
Nutrition tied all of this together. Even if he was eating “okay,” poor absorption and broken sleep meant his hair wasn’t getting consistent nourishment.
His crown thinning, therefore, wasn’t random. It was his body’s way of broadcasting what was happening inside.
Can poor sleep and dandruff really slow hair regrowth?
Yes. A scalp covered with dandruff build-up becomes inflamed and less breathable, while disturbed sleep keeps stress hormones high and repair processes low. Together they weaken hair follicles, slow regrowth and make existing strands thinner. This is why Traya always works on scalp health and sleep along with topical treatments.
The doubts that had to be answered
Once Aarav heard “8-month plan,” his next worry surfaced: “Matlab usmein koi side effect, difficult kyon nahin padega na?”
He had never taken hair medicines before and the thought of long-term products made him anxious. The coach answered calmly, explaining that his kit combined three sciences - dermatology, Ayurveda and nutrition - and that the Ayurvedic oral supplements were herbal, to be taken only after food, not on an empty stomach.
She also reassured him that if any issue ever came up - itching, sensitivity, confusion - Traya’s doctor team and hair coaches were just a callback away. That combination of medical backing plus constant support made him relax. “Doubt to clear ho gaya,” he admitted.
Month-wise journey: from dandruff control to baby hair
To make the 8-month journey feel less overwhelming, the coach broke it down into phases.
In the first three months, the focus would be on controlling his heavy dandruff and improving his internal health. The Anti-dandruff Night Lotion would be applied three times a week at night on alternate days, going deep to clear stubborn, oily flakes and fungal build-up. Alongside, Ayurvedic oral supplements would support metabolism and overall nourishment so his follicles were better fed from within.
From months four to six, as the dandruff settled and his system stabilized, his hair fall would start coming under control. Follicle health would begin to improve; this is the stage where hair feels less fragile, breakage reduces and the shedding finally slows.
From month seven onwards, she explained, “new baby hair growth hone lagti hai, along with thicker and fuller hairs” - especially on the crown where his scalp was already visible. She was honest about the hairline though: regrowth at the frontal hairline is slower and more difficult, but at the very least Traya’s plan would help maintain it so it didn’t recede further.
That blend of hope and realism helped him trust the process.
How the coach built his personalized hair treatment plan
Instead of dumping instructions on him, the coach layered the guidance so it fit into his daily life.
For his disturbed sleep and stress, his kit included Nasal Ghrit (Nasal Grit). She explained that according to Ayurveda, the nose is the gateway to the head, and these medicated ghee drops would help calm his mind and improve his sleep. He would put three drops in each nostril at night before sleeping, but only for 21 days. After that, it wouldn’t be repeated in the next month’s kit.
For scalp care, he received Traya’s Scalp Oil along with a booster shot to be mixed in. This medicated oil, made through the sneh pak process with herbs, minerals and goat milk, would be applied twice a week, about 30 minutes before a morning wash. The oil would nourish follicles deeply and improve blood circulation, setting up the scalp for better response when he shifted to active growth treatments.
Because his dandruff was heavy, the Anti-dandruff Night Lotion with ketoconazole worked alongside the oil to kill fungal overgrowth and soothe inflammation. Once the flakes reduced over the first month, he would gradually move towards maintenance routines and eventually, in the next month, his UG serum would be switched to Minoxidil, adding a clinically proven vasodilator to trigger stronger regrowth on his thinning crown.
For digestion, the coach suggested he could add Digest Boost if his gas and acidity worsened, but since his issue was only occasional, she first recommended simple home remedies like ginger water or fennel seed water and a short walk after dinner - supporting gut health without overloading him.
Every oral supplement in his kit was to be taken only after breakfast and dinner, never on an empty stomach. If he missed the morning dose, he could take it after lunch but was told firmly not to make that a habit.
To help him stay consistent, she taught him practical hacks: keep lotions near the bedside, supplements on the dining table, use the Traya app’s “Log and Earn” feature to record daily usage and earn discounts on future kits. This way, his plan became a part of his routine, not a separate task he kept forgetting.
Emotional shift: from fear to structured hope
At the start of the call, Aarav’s energy was all nerves and urgency. He wanted three-month miracles, worried about side effects and was unsure he could manage so many products.
By the end, he was talking about starting that very day, asking for his prescription on WhatsApp so he could follow it correctly, and even got a follow-up slot booked exactly 10–12 days later. “Abhi to nahin, karne ke baad dekhunga,” he said when asked if he had more questions - which, in his words, meant: I’m ready to try, and I’ll come back if I need help.
That’s what a good hair coach does: not just hand over a kit, but stay as a guide. Through scheduled follow-up calls, app reminders and open access to the doctor team, Aarav’s journey is being monitored and adjusted, not left to chance.
His story is still in progress; he’s in the early months where dandruff control and internal repair come first. But for someone who spent 18 months watching his crown thin out and doing nothing, having a clear, science-backed, personalized plan itself is a big transformation.
